Racehorse Grand Reopening!

It has been a long road to finally get to this annoucement but, it is finally time to reveal that Capallrás is ready to welcome back fellow jockey's to the track.

Where did the name come from?

Capallrás is Irish for racehorse. As this is the second edition of Racehorse, I felt it required a different and fresh name.

What long road do you mean?

Well, it all started after the Chase Cup - Jan 2015, the lag was so bad at the time that multiple players were forced to quit from the onset. After a lengthly investigation it was discovered water generation had changed from 1.7 to 1.8 and so the very land itself was generating lag. There was also two water temples under it which were spawning Guardians to protect them and attacks players who would not take damage due to the region. We decided to try and cut the land back, thereby shinkering the land. Unfortunitely there was a command derp which edited the surface layer of Racehorse and brought the server to its knees. After recovery it was impossible to restore it without crashing the server and so the old Racehorse had to be abandoned.

The curse continued that morning as back-up of the corrupted Racehorse replaced the orginial. This auto-backup occuring meant a second world would be required to restore and import an uncorrupted copy back onto Oasis-SMP. Many thanks to Mad, Pax and the Admin Team who managed to restore, import and place a new copy we could work with. Finally we could begin the salvage process...

After the construction of a newly redesigned spawn, peice by peice buildings we wanted to keep could be copied and pasted in and infastructure built around the structures. It expanded from the stables to deciding to rebuild a whole new Chase Course for players and a brand new Flat Track. During all this, necessary horse related plugins would break and contruction/design time would become limited...

Over one-hundred hours have been invested into this reconstruction between the Oasis staff team and the staff of Racehorse in order to bring Capallrás to its current stage of completion. We, the staff of Capallrás, hope all of our fellow jockeys will join us in the spirit of competition for the Fiach Cup Series, organized and hosted by myself and the Flat Track series when its racing season is decided upon and finalized amoung the staff. Capallrás is still undergoing contruction in certain areas but, we feel it is time to start gearing up for racing season!

What types of racing are offered?

Steeplechase - Fiach Cup Series:
This requires a horse that can both run fast, handle nicely and jump high enough to clear the obsticals as the jockey competes with five to seven other jockeys to reach the finish first! More on this Series if monthly races to follow...

Flat Track
This requires a horse that can run and run well. This is the typical style most people would think of when the term racing comes up. The program for that track is still being decided upon at present, more to follow!

How to get there?
/warp race

To bring a horse - have a feather in your hand and right-click the horse to load it onto the TP list. Warp to Capallrás and right-click to deploy horse, it will take a few seconds to show up. We have public stables which you may store up two horses in, just place a sign on the exterior!

I was never really into horses and horse racing myself, but I loved watching the races and felt the excitement every time there was a race. I am really happy to see that everything is fixed and I am excited for what's to come!

Anyway to add on to Agwyn's post. The racehorse staff have been hard at work with all of this. Agwyn and I have decided to add a new prize type for the tournamets, "Trophys", these are very careful selected banners that we feel all players would approve of.

Next up we have greatly reduced the amount of horses at the stockyards as we determined they did not help with the lag.

We have a whole new layout of the entire warp, we have a donation room for all types of donations, we have made it where the warp staff stables will not interfer with track locations so we built a warp staff stables area. Do not go in there unless you are warp staff,

With the 1.8 update adding Banners, the racehorse staff are allowing Stable customizations only to the inside of your stable. You must put a sign on the outside of your stable telling everyone it belongs to you. Also the warp staff are all cracking down on the "more then one stable" rule, if we find any player with more then one stable expect a warp tempban, if this is a repeated offense a full warp ban will occur, there will be no warnings with this rule.

All warp rules are to be followed and warnings will be very minimal. This goes with breaking blocks stealing items and anything that breaks the servers or the warps rules.
