Issues with obsidian Empty Issues with obsidian

Today when mining I noticed that when you mine obsidian you will get one block then another block will pop out of no where and give you two. I don't know if this is an issue or MCMMO but it startled me. I have passed back the dupes.

I believe it has something to do with mcmmo as I sometimes get 2 cobble from 1 stone and i assume  the same would happen with obsidian

From my understanding, as your MCMMO level gets higher, you can get multiples of an item that you break. I have seen it plenty of times while mining when I do manage to log on and play. I don't think this is a glitch, it is MCMMO rewarding you for mining a lot.
