Unfinished/Greiefed Houses

Don't you hate it when you see all these nice spots to build and then you see a simple box house that was either unfinished or griefed? Discuss

Yeah, it is the worst shit ever. I wish there would be a way to determine if a house is still used or not.

Sorry Sauce I have to disagree with that. Trusted would be to high and then that would almost make applying for member useless because people would have to be approved twice just to start building in Oasis.

I wish we could make a rule that you had to put a sign on your house with your name on it, or we destroy it. The only problem with that is we'd have to destroy 99% of the houses on the server.

Also, it's annoying how people will have separate houses for mineshafts, and not even make an effort for them to look nice.

Yeah, wish people would finish what they started when it comes to buildings, also wish there were less mud huts, hopefully people will read this topic and starting thinking "hey my house would look better if it was finished".

it is nice to see a project in stages though.

- getting the area sorted
- placing a rough outline of where things will roughly be
- half way through
- finished

- The contents of personal buildings are (in my opinion) optional, as players, unless told otherwise, shouldn't just walk in, if it is a public building 9area) then there should be contents.

I'd say we should only let Members place blocks, either that, or add a [Builder] Rank, only available through Ariley.

That's never going to happen, sorry. Noone likes joining a server that does that.

also, it's not just the people on the whitelist that leave un-finished buildings, some of them appear because people just get distracted from it (by doing something else), some are also because they got banned, or left the game (holiday, wanting to take time out (who knows).

is there a server log that tells how long people have been on nd how long it has been since they have been on is so we could look up some names kinda like i found a locked chest in the desert the other day im sure the person hasnt been on in along time but we could check possibly people that have been on few hours and havent logged in, in a long time and take the building down would help with alot of the white list leftovers also do the same with permbans

Park, there IS a server log of every single action anyone does on the server. However, this log is obnoxiously long and difficult to read, so I don't think checking it frequently to see if a building is abandoned or not is viable.

i dont think we should have a "builder" or have to be a member to build. if u find i house thats unfinished then find somewhere else. griefed? well thats different

The plus side to having a builders right (which i don't think should be done) is, in theory, less greifs.

A down point is less interest in the server and less people hanging around, sure it can be fun to look at other peoples work, for a short time.

What if newcomers get some kind of trial meaning they can't place any blocks for 30 min or 1 hour. During that time, you can lecture to them of what to do and not do etc.. then he is free to be let loose in the server.

hey im new here and this is my first post, but heres an idea, what about leaving an eviction/ destruction sign, if the owner doesnt reply within a pre determined amount of time, the house is dismantled, the chests are opened, and people can claim what they want.

Last post was on June 3, dead thread is dead.
