SAVE The Roses

As I'm sure several of you know, it has been discovered that in 1.7 Mojang plans to remove the long time symbol of Minecraft, the rose. They are replacing it with a poppy and adding a rosebush, which seems wrong to me. Discuss your opinion on the removal of roses.  

As long as the rosebush can maintain the honor the rose had, I personally have no problem with introducing the poppy. Besides that, the poppy has a significance to the remembrance of WW II, so really, of all things to replace the rose with, it would be that.

I'm all for the poppy, but they're even making the dye you get from it "rose red." But as something that has been around since Alpha, I don't think anything can hold honour to the rose, it's like changing the texture of dirt in default MC.

Let's get a petition going on PMC.

By what I understand they are replacing the rose with the Poppy, but you can still get the Red Dye from the Poppy. Also they are making the Rose into a Bush. They are also adding more such as tulips, Blue Orchid, Allium, Azure Bluet, Oxeye Daisy, Sunflower, Lilac, Rose Bush and Peony. However the Cyan Flower is to replace the Rose on the Pocket Edition and Pi Edition, not PC. So, in my opinion they are on the right track. Remember it is just a game and if they what to make changes to a multi-million dollar game, to make it better, then by all means let them.

I love all the new flowers, but I see no reason for them to remove the classic rose.

I can understand them removing it. They added the Rose Bush, so why have both. Also the Poppy took over what the Rose did, basically decor and red dye. Also, if you are using a Resource Pack, you can have the Poppy look like the old Rose, lol.

but you have ROSE BUSHES. WHich are a lot nicer than just a single rose!

This only stuff I have seen if the 1.7 flowers is BdoubleO's 1.7 Peep Show, and I like the new flowers, I am seeing you guys saying that they replaced the rose with the poppy, but think of it this way: They upgraded the rose to the rose bush and then added the poppy completely separate.  idk bout you guys, but I like to be optimistic. :P

I think roses look better in flowerpots. Now, Go and smell the rose(NOT bush)es

I believe the purpose of replacing the rose was because keeping it would be redundant with the addition of the rose bush. Dont get me wrong, adding the rosebush was also redundant, but hey. However, it would be cool if they made the rosebushes kinda like cacti, in the sense that they hurt you while you stand in them. Just alot less frequent damage and it doesnt destroy items. Cuz, you know... Every rose has its thorns

Roses do NOT have thorns! They have PRICKLES! There is a biological difference!
