Lapis is one of my favorite blocks, although I don't like the way lapis looks next to wood blocks or wool blocks.

From my perspective on lapis, it is better to "frame" lapis with a lighter block, or a light producing block, and then "frame" all of this within darker blocks. I use "flowers" of lapis surrounded by glowstone to give character to larger rooms that are otherwise boring. The vaulted ceiling in the flaketown mine is one example, just go to /warp flaketown and follow the red brick path to see it.

Thanks for the opinion grim, but what block would you recommend to use for "framing" the lapis that still has that "cabin" feel? plz reply :)

To put it simply, I would not use lapis on a wooden or log cabin. It looks out of place.

I don't think that you need to replace lapis..

There's no rules about what constitutes art, so do whatever you think looks right to you.

Here's a screenshot of my Oasis bunker, to show you how I like using lapis:

Well thats different because you are using a different texture pack. Use the default one. It might look good with that texture pack but not with the default.

My setup looks great to me in the default textures, also. When building, I switch between a few common texture packs, and the default, to make sure it is aesthetically pleasing with different textures.
