Overpricing goods Empty Overpricing goods

Post by mickdude2 4/22/2012, 6:07 pm

Lately, MrZsc has been waaaaay overpricing the things he sells. For example, his 'large' plots (which are only 16x16) are going for $50. Regular plots go for $20. And I even saw him trying to sell stone shovels at $5 bucks per shovel. And he sells ender pearls for $24.99 per pearl. Not per stack. Per pearl. This guy is ripping a lot of people off. I told him to stop, but of course I actually have no power to make him.

Lololol, it's an open economy bro. He can sell shit for whatever price he wants, if you don't like it, get stuff elsewhere. It's not as if he has a monopoly on everything.

Edit: Obvious troll is obvious.

The price at which someone sells something is up to them.

If someone buys them, that's it's there own fault, especially with the stone shovel (as anyone can get them).

Example,

you walk down town (i assume there are a few shops) and you see a shop selling a loaf of bread (normal bread) for $10.. This is a clear overprice of what it's worth, but if someone buys it then it's more fool them. Prices will go up or down depending upon their usefulness, how hard they are to come by and their need.

With regards to the high prices, well just don't buy from there. If he is the only shop selling an item that you want, then that's the going price for that item (and other shops will go buy that price when/if they start to sell it). I mean why sell something for $ 5 when someone will pay $ 10 (or more).

Sorry, but without having real overhaul of the shop pricing system and really harshly enforcing it, there isn't much we can do, we leave it up to the players to choose there prices. eventually they will bring the prices down (assuming no one buys from them).

Also, another thing to ask.. You see a shop who's Buy (that's you sell to them) price is higher then their Sell price.... would you tell them? or would you bleed them dry first? (works both ways).

It is indeed an "open Economy"

with the 2nd edit - i think someone is going round marking down any post they can by him (dunno why)

Isn't selling plots for money illegal?

if it's a town they have made themselves (i.e - no help from staff) then why not.. but this once again comes to the point if someone will buy something they can go else where and get for free.... then it's more fool them.

No one is forced to buy anything, there are many places to go build.

It does nothing, I have just never seen one with an absolute value as high as 46.

I used to sell 10x10's for 10 bucks and 15x15's for 20. That was my opinion on what the plots were worth. If you think their overpriced, then don't buy them. That's basically how it goes down.

OMG, I can't believe I didn't see this yet. Look, if you think my stuff are overpriced, then DON'T BUY THEM! Mind your own business, people can buy what they want. And you exaggerate about some of the things I do, I don't sell stone shovels, and my ender pearls are $4.99, not $24.99.

There, there.

Mick tends to overreact. He does it all the time. Don't worry about it.

I agree with the people here. People can sell things if they want to. To my knowledge, there are no actual set prices on this server in which to sell items. people do their own pricing.

Everything is fine about setting prices, but they MUST have adequate buying prices too, a shop can't only sell, it must buy products for the economy to flow, also, when i say ''Buying products'' You can't just buy everything for 1 Coin, so please, put balanced prices.
