I just got on the server and the entire thing was going down the toilet fast. Was this some kind of heavy-duty griefing or what? First people were spamming their youtube channel in the chat, and then there was some sort of mass kick and the chat was clogged for the next several minutes with the same messages of the same people being kicked. What's going on?

Sounds like someones computer was freezing up or something. Put in a ban appeal in the proper forum thread and they will tend to you accordingly.
