Oasis Charity Drive 2021 Donations Megathread!

Good afternoon and aloha to all!

As I mentioned during this month’s promotions ceremony – we are having our fourth Oasis Charity Drive– a month-long event where the Oasis MC community comes together to offer financial support – no matter how large or small – to a selected charity/organization of our choice.

This year we are having all donations go directly to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Reason being is simple – my family, myself, and my friends have been impacted (both directly and indirectly) by this horrendous condition, and I want to be able to help those in need. With the recent approval of the FDA approved Alzheimer’s drug ‘Adulhelm’, not to mention other discoveries in modern medicine, I am confident that we are on the horizon of a breakthrough. Whether that is a cure, or some additional medication to slowdown & mitigate the impact of Alzheimer’s, the fight is not over just yet and I humbly ask you for support and help during the month of October.

This year our goal is $500 - we averaged $980 in our previous three charity drives so I know this is definitely possible. I am excited to see how far we can go though!!

If you are interested in helping AFA – great! To help them get as much support from us as possible, we are offering a 25% discount to all donation tiers, and I will be personally matching the donations from the community up to a max of $1000 USD.

We are also mandating all potential donors to donate as normal by using the Oasis Paypal. This can be done via the in-game /donate command, by using the DONATE button located on our forums. We ask that you do not donate directly to AFA. This is because your donation – while greatly appreciated by myself and AFA organization – will not count towards your donation total here on the server. Rest assured, I will be submitting the final donation when everything’s totaled up and accounted for at the end of the drive.

The only thing I ask for everyone interested in donating for AFA is to post your donation in this very thread (as a response to my main thread starter.) Please state how much you want donated for the server vs the charity so that bookkeeping is easier and also so that everyone gets a chance to participate however they want.

Alzheimer's is a condition that I firmly believe should not exist in this world of ours. We as a society already have too much pain and suffering to endure. Having to watch & experience those who once were sharp as a tack slowdown and degrade overtime is extremely painful; it is something I wish never to have come over anyone. Any support we as a community can provide to those in need is helpful no matter how small.

2014 – Oasis Raises Awareness for Cancer Donation Drive (Raised $857.50 for American Cancer Society)
2015 – Oasis Raises Awareness for ALL Cancers Donation Drives (Raised $1337.69 for Prevent Cancer Foundation)
2016 – Oasis Against Cancer Drive - (Raised $750 for Prevent Cancer Foundation)

Ah not sure if my last messages went through or not, but I’ll just post again just in case. I’ve donated an additional $10, raising my total to $50. I just wanted to thank you, Mad, for choosing this charity, as both of my grandparents on my father’s side have Alzheimer’s. As stated by a previous user;

I sent another $7.50 at 7:44 PM UK time on the 7th of october , making my total $15 which i think gives me $20 benefits, if so, i'd like my name to be &c the prefix to stay as Wacko and be &8 and the brackets to be &9. I think this also gives me tp...?
