Weekly Griefing!

Hello BroadStreetBully and I are starting an activity called Weekly Griefing! It is where Broad or I build a house or something and then at the end of the week people can come grief it for fun! So everyone come and join in. Bring out your inner griefer. We are also applying for a warp point too.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Each week it will be a new COMMUNITY project. Everyone can take-part in building!
We will try to keep it themed (Sci-Fi, Old Western, Gothic, etc)
It will be one big building.
We will schedule the griefings. For example Monday-Thursday we build. Friday will be the actual griefing (The weeks-ends are just dead space. In other words, nothing official will really happen.)
You get to keep the materials you get, but we ask you donate a portion of them to help us rebuild.
No extremely high value items, please (Ex. Diamond blocks, and Gold/Diamond ore).
No things that take a painstakingly long amount of time to destroy (Ex. Obsidian)

As I iron out the details, I will post them here.

(Construction is planned to start tomorrow of the first Weekly griefing)

I am fine with this. Just so long as all the materials that go into the buildings are legitimately earned, not spawned, since whoever comes to break it down can keep the mats.

They will all be legitimate and we will try to keep valuable items to a minimum.

This was a good time. Memorable night here on Oasis :)

This really is a neat idea (: and hopefully it cuts down on people griefing just for the sake of doing it, as opposed to doing it to be an ass (:

My suggestion would be to have a staff spawn a dome (maybe bedrock), then build within this dome during the week. Then on Friday, open the doors for the waiting crowd and let the griefing commence.

I agree with Chaos, something enclosed would be much better...for the feisty people out there ;)

Hmm... Maybe instead of bedrock, we could use glass. But we could have an admin lock it. Sorta like the spawn?

But if we did glass then it wouldn't be a surprise

I don't believe they have any locking plugins that would work like that. If they did Underwater City would be locked.

lol Bella. Hmm Broad I'm thinkin we have a team of builders. I feel like if its completely public there could be a lack of communication on what is being built and like Bella said earlier it keeps people from starting early

Agreed. Pork, I already have selected an area (with the help of m_park) to build the dome. I'll get the group together tomorrow and we will start clearing and building. :D

You should make a 5x5 skyscraper. (1-2 hrs of build time) A little skyscraper would be perfect. The griefers would need to be challenged on their abilities as being one of the worst organisms in the minecraft universe. xD

there is a locking plugin but it locks it from top of the map down to bedrock and the underwater one cant be locked because then you couldnt build on the plots

build a bedrock dome, fill it with obsidian

on a more serious note, i would love to join in folks :P

Update. Me tsl and Broad found and started to dig out our area, i spent the next 5 hours finishing it and Chaos helped as well. Pork and chaos are there making the area look good as i type. thats where we are at!

I don't grief, but, if I WERE to grief, I'd probably go for a lot of glass, lightstone and things that will fall from gravity... Sand or gravel structures xD
