^ Rasputin by Boney M. Interesting song?

< I forgot how stressful my school makes mock trial. It's basically treated like a sport (which our coach admitted) with practice every day for 3-4 hours and constant, well, everything. It doesn't help that my classes all now are assigning stuff- had a test and 3 quizzes on Wednesday and an essay assigned Tuesday/Friday (wasn't really paying attention in class on Friday so it might have been assigned then?) due last Thursday.

^ There are several different foods I really dislike, but one of the worst would probably be pickles.

< Had a customer get absolutely livid with me today. She thought an item was priced wrong, so I told her I'd go back there and check and the sale sign clearly stated it was for a different item, and it was not even close to the item she thought was on sale. She got hysterical with me and acted as if I just took away the next 10 years of her life. Not only that, but she went and told all the other workers at checkout of how terrible of a worker I am, then called to complain to the manager about me, even though I followed our policy to a T. I love people.

^ On an average night, I sleep 8-9 hours. But recently, that hasn’t been the case from a 2 week trip to Philippines. There’s a 16 hour time zone difference, and while it was super easy to get used to the time zone difference when I got there, when I got back, sleeping became the hardest thing in the world.

< I accidentally slept for (maybe) 13 hours yesterday. I couldn’t exactly remember what time i fell asleep, but my mom came home at around 5 and said I was already asleep. I woke up at 6AM. It’s the most I’ve slept in a couple months.

^ Soft mattress. Much easier to fall asleep on for me. But it comes with the downside that when I have to get up it makes it a whole lot harder for me.

< I'm no longer sure what's going on with my mock trial team. They've decided to play this one witness (who the defense is pinning everything on) as uber gay. And it's stereotypical too. I'm no longer sure why I let this team decide anything anymore. What's even worse/better is that the supervisor allowed it, meaning it's going all the way. This is going to be interesting...

^ I hate stereotypes in general. My passion is comedy; stereotypes are just low hanging fruit. If you have to rely on jokes that have already been written to be funny, you arent that funny.

< Im in so much pain. I went to my mothers for a couple days and the mattress I was sleeping on was the worst. I had springs jabbing at my tender torso bits the whole time and now, days later, it still hurts to move my arms. Doesnt help that I have a gut wrenching cough too. Everything is pain.

^ Couple summers ago me and a group of friends went to Nicaragua for a couple weeks. The day we were supposed to come back, we got really sick with food poisoning and had to stay another couple days because they wouldn't let us fly in that condition. I spent like 8 or 10 hours actively "sick" and then slept 24 of the next 30 hours.

< I think the weirdest thing to happen recently was double homesickness. So, basically, I got homesick on a trip back in my hometown, initially, I adjusted extremely well, eating local food all the time, and speaking both Tagalog/English. Then two weeks in, I started oddly craving things I ate all the time in US like burgers and pizza. Then I wanted to be back in US. Then I go to US and one day later I want to be back in Philippines. It was like calling two places home and wanting to be in both homes simultaneously.

^ I get a lot of enjoyment out of my job. I work in the checkout area of a grocery store, so we almost always have a few other workers up there with me and many of them are super chill. Also, I've been there long enough that I know most of our regular customers by name and we carry people's groceries out to their car for them so I get to talk to people all the time there.

< That same reason can be grounds for hating the job at times. If I really don't feel like being around people, I really can't escape it and I've built a really good reputation there that I don't want to lose. Also, I have several super annoying coworkers that there is really no escaping from, as well as some classic angry customers who know everything better than every person who works there.

^ The accent I don't have. (time for explanation). So, my mother's side of the family is really Irish, in fact she immigrated from Ireland. I spend some time with her, so apparently I've taken on some kind of accent. Most everyone in school thinks I have this brilliant British accent, whereas everyone in Ireland thinks I'm the most American thing to come to their country. It bothers me at times, but I have learned to roll with it.

^ Well, last semester in my anthropology class we had to do a group research project on Margaret Mead and that turned into writing a paper about it, doing a presentation, and making a poster board and presenting it several times to anyone and everyone in the school who wanted to listen to it. If I had known we were going to have to do that, I probably would not have taken the class.

^ Well, it's more like what I notice at the hospital I volunteer at. There's this one nurse who will only work front desk at the ER (even though I'm sure they've tried to promote him 10 times at this point) and he always makes a point of making sure that every visitor feels like someone at least notices that they're there. I may not agree with his methods, but it works for sure.

< I don't think I've ever had more fun than today. A group of friends and I hung out for about 6 hours straight and did some fun (and weird) games, but I'm glad I did it. Beats sitting at home, wondering why you've watched 10 episodes of some show on Netflix and realizing you're probably gonna watch another 15.
