How to make a Simple iron farm.

This tutorial is going to be on how to make a simple iron farm. Below ill be making a small iron farm that will produce round a stack of iron a hour;  also I'll be explaining some of the mechanics on how the farm works. 

* understanding how to start

The very first thing thing that you want to do is to check to see if there is any villages close by(68 Blocks). If there is some remove the doors to destroy the village because this will affect where the iron golems will spawn. Note(save the villagers becuase they will be used later).

Once you have done that then you can start on your farm. The way that iron golems spawn is based on two things; the number of villagers in a village and the amount of houses in a village. A village is required to have atleast 10 villagers and atleast 21 house.( a house is a door that the natural light level is different on one side then the other. Example below
 so now that you under stand the required conditions you can now work on the spawning area. golems spawn in a (16 x 16 x 6) block area from the center of the village. so to take advantage of this you will want to make a platform like below.note (build this a few blocks off the ground so the golems have a place to go)

Note (that you can build this out of whatever blocks you want)
now go up by one block and make a square.

now you will want to go along the the edge with block once more so there is a place to put you doors

now you will want to place 3 block tall pillar at the comers so no water can get out. also at this tmie you can place your doors on the blocks on the edge.
 
now connect the corner with blocks on each side

At this point you can repeat the floor onto of this to give the maximum amount of spawning places but i will not be doing that in this tutorial. 

so now you want to build two spots for your villagers so go from the center and make a 5x 4 x 4 cup for you villagers.
 

now is the time to place the water in the farm (place the water where the diamond blocks are at)

now lastly you just need to put at least 5 villagers in each of the two cups.

This post was just meant to explain the basic and how to build a SIMPLE iron farm. i could have posted on how i made my iron farm from the 1.9 map that got around 800 iron per hour but that was not point of this post
