Am I banned? Empty Am I banned?

I'm confused, after about a week of no minecraft, I check the server again and I get a constant message saying "Connection refused: connect" all the time. I changed the IP address and updated to 1.6.5, but it still won't let me in no matter how much I try. Can anyone explain this to me. If it's because I'm banned, then why? I just need some help of what's going on.

No, you are not banned. Though I'm unsure of how to help you, unless you upgraded to 1.6?
