the walls mini game idea

hi blue here and I'm tell admins that there might be a pvp game coming out and me and the little team here is the desrption of the game

u are on a team and u need to get ect then the walls fall and u are aginst anther team the first team who has killed all the players get to win or if oasis wants fight a boss


I need help so if u want to help read the ways u can below
1. get glass ,ore blocks ,wood , sand
2. help get ideas for arenas
3. help by giving cofendense
4. help build

This is a very fun pvp Minigame that I've played countless times, and I would love to be able to play it on Oasis. There are a few issues though, one being that this would be very difficult to construct due to the fact that players could dig underneath the walls (unless staff world edit bedrock walls). Also, this would require a ton of redstone, pistons, and sand. It's a great idea, but it would take a while to build/test.

That would be my worries. Also this would have to be built in the owner games world as pvp will not be enabled in the smp world. The amount of redstone required is so great it can only go in the owner games world because if all the lag it would cause. 

Also you put this is in the wrong section.  Mini game ideas do not go in apply for a warp section

It was your idea so if you can come up with a way to get it in the owner games world you would obviously be a part of the team. I would talk to mad, pax, or osga about having a spot set up in the owner games world then you would be able to go from there.

  As i said before there is no other place it can go other then the owner games world because of the sheer amount of redstone required and the lag it would cause. Huge redstone contraptions like what you would need for a Minigame like this could easily crash the server and have tons of players complaining about lag.  It's already a big problem with players complaining in the smp world so a Minigame like this will cause more problems unless it's in the owner games world. 

I know that's a big wall of text but it's important if you want to make this happen.

^ This sums it up plain and simple. Keep in mind,  we aren't trying to bring down your idea, we're just letting you know about the obstacles you'd have to face to make this a Minigame.

if walls is on oasis it might get more people to come.....

In regards to the redstone...

Theres really no need to make things complicated. You dont NEED a timed circuit to drop the walls. It could just be as simple as one person waiting on a lever. Basically how buildoff works, just with a lever pull at the end. Sure there are alot of pistons involved, but you could always use WE command blocks as a workaround. 

Despite the provided diction, this is a good idea. I think it might be worth implementing with a dedicated team of builders as well as staff assistance.

I actually do know of a way to make a 15 minute timer without lag, just letting the players know about the time would be difficult... (Maybe a scoreboard?)

I think this would definitely be possible and I would love to help build it.

Awesome idea.

I made a "The Walls" map in 1.7
I had built one of the four teams "bases" and planned to get it World edited, rotated and copied to make the full arena. But I never got around to asking.

I made a bedrock layer at the bottom and built bedrock walls up on the sides. Then I just filled it with stone, gravel, dirt, caves, chests etc.

The walls were made out of sand and gravel with pistons underneath powered by a lever.

I would love to see this as a mini game on Oasis

You could ask Osga/Mad/Pax about getting in the Owner Games world and you could start from there. :)

I'd be willing to help build if you need me, I hope this becomes a minigame.

FYI I would ask mad or pax if they can set up command blocks for you and you tap a button. Have it delete the top layer of the wall so you can have it level to the ground for people to walk over it. Also have a button to replace the wall back in. This way it would be alot less lag/time with falling blocks/world edit.

This is how it would have to be done if this is ever made a thing.
This would need clearing with an Admin though.

I have to make it good first so I can get him to let me do the minigame in og
