Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
I'm setting up this forum for the purpose to keep me sketching. I've had some issues keeping up with my sketchbook and at times its left untouched for long periods of time. So I'm asking you for requests to keep me going.
To request for a sketch, PM me.
All I ask is that you tell me what it is with good descriptive words and use reference pics if possible. If its a character I would like a description of said character to help me figure out how he/she acts cause I may not know who he or she is.
If its a player on Oasis I would like to have the following.
Name:
Gender:
Blocks or mobs associated with player:
Personality traits:
(Reference pic of player)
Any additional info of player or how you want the player to be drawn:
I and will NOT use profanity, mature themes, and excessive violence.

the theme was inspired by the YouTube series Freeman's Mind. A part of this series the character Gordan Freeman was convinced that Black Mesa was hiding gnomes in its depths. But he was convinced that the aliens ate them already. Well this is no gnome its a gun toting leprechaun.

Thanks for the feedback I'm still trying to improve my skills as an artist and dealing with the artist curse. The curse entails a ever nagging need of getting better and nit picking even my greatest pieces. But hey that means there can only be room for improvement.

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
I suffered the same thing for six months, then it became a total artists block because I refused to draw or paint until I figured out 'what was missing' and why I can't do what I used to do. xD took hours, if not days of examining my older paintings to find the problem.Gr00veDriftTreh1 wrote:Thanks for the feedback I'm still trying to improve my skills as an artist and dealing with the artist curse. Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
Yeah we all have those blocks getting in our way, making us work for ideas... but hey we some times need to take a little break now and then. Something I learned while I draw is that there are no mistakes. That messy line, the bump that knocks you off course, and the careless mistakes can mold you to a new way of drawing different from what you basically copied and pasted before.
Basically keep drawing and work with mistakes than against them and let it show you a new path.
Also still waiting on your art requests, my pencil is just waiting for something to draw!

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
I wouldn't recomend taking an art class. I used to draw alot, until deadlines made it no fun anymore, plus the stress of someone judging your work and putting a number on it results in many late nights with that "perfectionist mentality". Only upside: I now draw pictures of strangers I see frequently in the halls, then give them a highly detailed headshot of them self and just walk away. That is, when I feel like it...

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
Thanks I'll await your request.
I've also taken an art class in high school and it has most definitely improved my skill. I'm not sure how your class compares to mine Shnoork but what I've learned in the class has given me the basic tools to take my little doodles to the next level. These tools include shapes, shadows, point of view, people, and sketching. With these I've seen mass improvements on what I was drawing and I continue to (well try to) draw.

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
Well my drawing was not even close to this good when I started...
these where only random sketches that I put on a piece of paper on the front of my binder. Hardly art show quality, but I continued to draw and learn to get to where I am today. So keep drawing/sketching and you will see improvement.

True, but there are some successful people that make a living off of stick figures alone. (xkcd.com)

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
Now here is a request from Shnoork
'Batman high fiving Abe Lincoln, with Optimus Prime in the background who is high fiving Godzilla and giving a thumbs up. Also, find a way to incorporate the letter Q somewhere, so its not noticeable and you have to look really close to see it. Must be uppercase'
I am going to take a break from requests to try out some ideas that have been buzzing in my head so I will put further requests on a back burner.

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
Well I drifted off to a two week hiatus to pursue some of my own ideas for drawings....
The next one was inspired by the disscusion that developed on the second page of Dat Procrastination Post
I will be opening back up to requests so if you want anything in particular just send me a pm.
- Me and My big Wallet:
Well you should know about me and my shopping binges and the fact I could get about anything at any price. So here is me in the Gr00veDriftTreh Inc company truck picking up an order.

Re: Gr00ve's Sketchy Corner
- The Single End:
The end..... One goes through all of his life to prevent this outcome.... our last star after all of these millennia of life and light has died as many more before it. The wave of energy and gas tears the world in half like one would cut an onion, without remorse or guilt. The remnants of the once called star collapses and becomes the bane of all, a hunger that cant be filled. The very shadows bend to its will pulling all within its reach to satisfy its destructive needs.
