Oasis Purge Idea

So, the sequel to the purge is coming up, and i had an idea.

Oasis purge would be a night on oasis where PVP is enabled in survival, and all griefing is allowed. Griefing would be fixed afterwards if unnecessarily large griefing occurs. This would only be a one time thing. What do you think?

I think it sounds pretty cool.

I like the idea, but... What about the players that can spawn items with /i? and /god? If we ever were to do this, we'd need to turn off all those commands. Another problem is new players joining. They might think that pvp and griefing is an everyday thing, and players who don't read the forums would give a shitstorm of grief over their griefed houses and whatnot

True. When I meant a squel to the purge, I meant the movie series where all crime legal for 12 hours.

Nope, just nope. If you want to grief and kill just go the pvp section of oasis (if that is still a thing) or search for another server that is specially designed for these 2 things. The survival smp world of oasis (PVE) is one of the reasons i stayed playing. Otherwise i would have
probably left and kept searching for other servers.

This will just show the true nature of people, when you find your town griefed down when you log back in again. Doesn't matter if it is done by friends or strangers. Just the idea that people go to the deed of griefing (no matter if it is allowed for a night/day or not) makes me distrust them immediately.

This would not be a thing to make me come back to oasis

This turned out to be a deeply discouraged idea, i'll just quit it

This was suggested before (before the purge was even a thing), but it was suggested on the last day before a map update, right before everything got wiped. 24 hours before the map update, staff would announce it, and oasis would go full vanilla. 

I kinda liked the idea, especially with it right before the update, so there was no harm done even with spawned items.

I do not like this idea. Anyone who would grief or steal or anything like that would lose my trust, no matter if it is allowed or not. Also, if this was done at a time that is not right before a map reset, it would be really hard for staff to clean up everything.

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. 1st off staff will be busy for weeks cleaning up all the griefs. 2nd its against the rules, if you wanna grief crap go to a PVP server Oasis IS NOT A PVP SERVER it is SMP.3rd i will not watch builds that took me hours or days to complete be destroyed especially my racetrack. That track was a tribute to my grandma after she passed away so if any1 as much as breaks a single block I'm gonna be pissed it 's very disrespectful to me and my family. My grandma has been dead over a year and i am still having a hard time accepting the fact that shes gone.
