To my friends in Oasis SMP....

For those that dont know yet, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer recently. She was allready diagnosed with 1 terminal ill disease 5 years ago called Huntingtons Chorea. But breast cancer....WTF? At any rate, after several test, and people poking and prodding my wifes TITTY and talking to a couple of doctors, we finally have a plan laid out and know whats gonna happen now.

First off, She has a pretty good size lump. Fount it on fathers day (Nice fathers day present eh?). Test said it was cancerous. Pet scan says its not spreading, but a LIL BIT MAY HAVE GOTTEN TO HER LIMP NODES. They are just gonna remove the lump and she gets some chemo treatments. Now here is the plan of action the doctor gave us.

She has to have a mega scan, checks heart strength, she had a cardio myopathy when she was 18/19. One of the meds for chemo can cause cardio myopathy. The dose for that to happen is WAY more than she will be taking, BUT they just want to be precautious. This will happen this comming Wed morning.

Wed after noon, she is getting a Port Catheder (sp?), its basically a socket that hooks up to an artery to make it easier to feed the chemo meds via IV.

This starts August 5th - Then she is getting 3 doses of chemo, 3 weeks apart.

Then Surgery, 3-4 weeks for recovery.

Then she gets a dose of radiation.

Then she gets 3 more doses of chemo, 3 weeks apart.

They said we are looking at about 6 months of treatment here.

Now with this being said, my wife will be out of work for about 6 months. I will not be active at all during this time. I have to get a second job. I prolly wont be back for several months after just so i can get things caught back up after she returns back to work.

I just felt like you guys should know that I am gonna be gone for a good while. And I hope that things turn out for the best.

I'm so sorry to hear that pax, but at least you have a plan. So often people forget it's a diagnosis, not a death sentence. I have no doubt you and your wife will pull through because you took the time to plan things out. Just stick to that plan, rest, and take it one day at a time.

Sorry to hear about this. Not gonna get into what cancer has done to my family, I know how horrible a toll it takes, hope everything goes ok. The server will be in good hands.

I am truly sorry to hear about that Pax, I'm sure everything will turn out alright in the end. I hope that you all get through this well; we will all miss you from oasis.

I am so sorry Pax, breast cancer is nothing to mess with.

Everyone one of us has been hurt by cancer somehow, and if not, then you are extremely luck. My mom, her sister, her mother, and her mother’s mother all had breast cancer. They all persevered and beat it except for my great grandmother, rest in peace.

My father’s best friend, a man I admired and looked up to fought with pancreatic cancer for several years until succumbing to it.

My boss, a woman who works harder than anyone I know, her son was just recent diagnosed with Leukemia. He is going through treatment now and we all support him.

My girlfriend’s father sadly passed away from brain cancer, after fighting a long battle and still trying to be the best dad he could be.

Finally, my grandfather just recently passed away from lung cancer that spread through his body.

There are others that I know, like my buddy Joe who got stomach cancer, and so on, but I would be here all day.

So I guess the message is that you are not alone. You have your family, friends, and most importantly, Oasis ;) :P We will always be here for a good laugh and an escape :) So work hard, stay positive, and I'm sure the server will be still be here when you get back!

I remember when i was 6 and my mother was diagnosed with cancer, and everything went well. My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer 3 weeks ago also, but now the doctor said everything is fine. I sincerely hope the same goes for your wife. Hugs from saucio.

Please take all the time that you need to be gone for your wife. I hope for the best of luck of trying to beat this cancer and that things can all go back to NORMal. (see what i did there?) But seriously, it's completely and totally understandable.

While you focus on your wife and family im sure the Oasis family will be sending you their love, luck, and prayers. I know I will be. Ill be looking forward to your return.

Pax... so sorry, man. I hope everything turn out alright. When you come back, I hope your wife is feeling much better. A member of my family's life was taken by brain cancer, and that was awful. So I think I kind of understand what you must be feeling.

Anyways, I'll see you in six months or so. Hope your wife gets well!

I feel like I don't understand as much about it as others. The only experience I've had with cancer is my first dog, Peanut, getting cancer (Lymphoma) and we had to get him put down. I'm not trying to tell a sad story. I'm just saying that's all I have ever experienced. I pray that your wife will make it through this. See ya in a few months Pax!

I remember us talking about that over skype, cancer's a bitch, my grandmother died from It, and I might get liver cancer in the future if I keep eating like a fatty. Shit's hard Norm. I wish both of the the best of recovery. Hope to see you back soon.

Hope everything turns out okay. I know cancer alone is nothing to sneeze at, runs big time in my family. Wish your wife a speedy recovery and hope you don't get to stressed out. Just remember you have friends thinking about you and who are here for you and your wife.
