"New" old map in 1.6? Empty "New" old map in 1.6?

Do the old builds get transfered to the "new" old map, or is it simply the base of the old map that will be kept?

the old map will stay, and we will have a new map. the Pvp map and shop world will stay the same

I think he means that the pvp world shop world and all that stays the same but the world we play on survival is going to new map

Madscientist answered my question, and it is a yes... The old builds will be transfered over and players will be able to travel to both the old and the new map :)

Thats a relief :P I didnt want to loss my builds :P I'm excited for the change, when is it happening? I 've been on in the last day or so, so I don't know :P

The map will update exactly one week from today. There is an announcement thread located here that you can visit regarding the status of the new map.

Well I THINK the old survival map should have carpet etc but not horses. I mean you have to have to have at least something exiting for the 1.6 map, am I right, no ok ;n;

Yes you will be able to use the same blocks in both maps. Only difference is that horses wont naturally spawn in the old map. So I am gonna try and add a command to spawn horses randomly through out the map.

Okay I haven't seen anyone ask this so, - Will inventory carry over between the 2 SMP maps. I am curious because I was thinking about starting over on the new map but wanted to bring some tools that I already have.
