Hey can anyone explain to me how the whole "reputation" number/points system works? I'm new to the forums and I'd like to understand a bit better

There is a little +/- sign next to every post. Clicking + gives +1 reputation, Clicking - subtracts 1 reputation.

I don't know about points.

Points is the total number of upvotes subtracted by the total number of downvotes. It can be negative.

I think grim means the 'Points' that is under your avatar, right above the 'Reputation'

You get 3 for every day you've been here and 1 for each post as well as 3 more for each topic created. I hid that number because it actually was pointless (no pun intended)
