99 minecraft days

It took me a while, but I finally have another build out. It's a little desert temple hardly 500 blocks from spawn. And yes Z, this is what I was doing instead of working on our town  
And of course I took screenshots in both regular texturepack and JohnSmith to show the differences between them.

Wow, the difference of the texture packs in this example really sticks out. The John Smith makes the temple unbelievably more intriguing and less bland.

It's been awhile since I posted some screenshots on here, but that's because I've been hard at work on Zland 1.3.2. This is the house I have there, and although it's not completely done, I like the exterior of the house. All that's not stone is completely legit.

Well with the announcement of the new server comes the uncertainty of what will happen to this map. So I'm just gonna show you guys what I'm working on for the past week(ish) now. It's nowhere near being done, but I want you guys to see it just in case the map was lost.


Im still working on the roof, the interior decor, and the exterior decor. I'm also going to add more materials to the design (Thank you, Dixi).

I would like to apologize to Osga, because I won't be on as much to continue our war. I found this great little program called World Painter That lets me edit the minecraft world directly and use that map. I am currently working on a nice little town, maybe a few towns, in the medieval style of course. So you will see another major project sometime in the near future.

Time for me to spam this topic with a bunch of pictures of the same build! I've got four screenshots with the same view. I just wanted to know which of these you guys like best.

First up, and my favorite, is JohnSmith.

Next is a classic for me, Dokucraft High.

Now this texture pack is new for me. Sphax craft would be good for a modern build, but I don't think it will work with my medieval style.

And of course, default texture pack.

This map was made with the World Painter tool, and I'm quite pleased with the results. I also want to know what you think of this project. What direction should I go with this? Should I make several warring cities or one massive one? Should I make some mysterious ruins or just simple farming towns? I need you're feedback

I prefer the Sphax actually from this view. I see what you mean by the modern look but I only notice that when looking at the stone. The doku high was a bit too dark for me and John Smith looked a bit odd from this distance. I bet from up close I'd pick John Smith though. Also, default is default, so....ya.

I probably should have used the customizer for dokucraft, It does seem a little dark and i hate that. As for sphax.... I prefer default to sphaxcraft... But I will take pictures in that texturepack just for you Gonk :P

I like the modern builds more as well which may explain my preferment (dafuq! That's actually a word?) towards Sphax. That's not to say I don't enjoy your mid-evil builds, in fact, I enjoy them a lot. Otherwise I wouldn't check this thread every time it showed up on the posts since last visit.

Remember what I said about using sphaxcraft? Well screw that. I'm using Jamziboy's edited JohnSmith Texture, so the wool looks like crates or roofing or such. If I switch texturepacks I get a bunch of pink and cyan wool, which looks weird as shit. But for now it looks cool. I usually don't like building texture-pack dependent builds, but in this case I'm the only one who is gonna see this.


In other news, I have built the Melon Capital and surrounded it with a meager defense force of 400-500 melons. I won't give too many screenshots of my secret base, but here's a general overview. All materials except for the outer stonebrick wall are legit.

Yay double post! But I actually have some good stuff for you here. I'm building up the town with all the essentials- bar, tavern, brothel, farm, docks, storage, and houses.

Here's a quick overview of what I have so far (it looks small because I made the valley too big):

This will eventually become a big-ass farm (ps, does anyone have a good way to mass plant lol?)



I value planning in any city, especially in the placement of the buildings. That's why I set it up so the sailors can drop off their shipments, head to the bar down the street, then drunkenly stagger to the brothel further down, to the amusement of the patrons eating dinner in the inn.

Triple post? I'm on a roll! No new update for you yet. I'm posting because one of my all-time favorite minecrafters, MinecraftMadness64, released his new medieval city update. Madness is the one who got me into building medieval, and I still regard him as one of the best.

I hope to get my city to look as great as Kargeth one day.

But right now, my city isn't even named! I need a great name, something that would be both striking and peaceful, something that would compliment its beauty while hinting at the secrets held within. I'm kinda lookin at Agincourt, mebbe Loth. Tell me what you think the city should be named.

Well the build is progressing nicely. I was building a few houses, and inn, the brothel, you know, building stuff. And I was thinking how nicely it was complemented by that little bend in the river, the one that's not a ninety degree angle, but slopes gently in to the rest of the river and through some mountains..... That river.
So I decide to take a look at the little town (Which is still nameless) with that nice little river bend.....WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO MY RIVER???!!!


I'm beyond disappointing with this. I don't even have WorldEdit to fix it... I might just leave it for now. Figure out what the hell to do with it later. Basically, right now I have a giant square desert in the middle of my river.

Get a shovel and remove it the ol' fashioned way.
