Anarchial Survival Server and the Human Mind Empty Anarchial Survival Server and the Human Mind

Well, i little while ago I went on a server that was absolutely rule-free server(btw, this is the same one jamesthejragon goes on) and saw something that interested me.

Although the server was completely no rules, people still clustered in small 'clans' and set up ecclectic city-state type settlements. What does this say about us and our minds? It says that even in chaos, humans tend to center around and set up organizations and order. Our minds are hard-wired for socialization.

The second thing I thought of was communism. These city-states share absolutely everything(except maybe a few diamonds) with each other, and each member has a specific job. For example, some people farm and gather food, others mine, a few might attack another settlement, while others still tended to the household itself. It's a beautiful example of the purest form of communism: everyone is equal, and everyone shares with his comrade.

The third thing I thought of was you guys at Oasis. If this is survival, then what's Oasis? Because Oasis is not as pure survival as this. But Oasis is still a survival, and a damn good one. The only difference that I can see is the emphasis. On Oasis, the emphasis is more one the player-to-player interaction and epic builds, while this emphasizes more on survival and survival alone.

If you read all that, I offer my congratulations. You have read through a long and (a little) boring rant.

Oasis has rules, you said that server had no rules.
That makes a giant difference.
A server without rules doesn't has to be chaos. (:

And Oasis is also pure survival. If you play without doing /home 1 when ur almost dead. Andrew just gives us the oppertunity to choose what you want. And that is what I really like. You can choose if you die and take the same dangerous and hard path back to your dropped stuff. Or you can t'port away like a coward. Just take the challenge. And just use /home 1 when you need or want to get back to your home. And not when you're in danger. But thats just my point of view.

And about the "clans", I build almost always on my own. And when someone wants to build close to me or make a town with me. It's no problem. But you can just ask other people to build together and make a town. That's actually the same way as a "clan".

That's my answer (:

If you find something offensive or shizzle. Wasn't meant to be. I just say/type what I think. :D

What I meant was how Oasis is set up to make towns because we have warps/whatnot. This is meant for individuals to play as individuals, but instaed have 'clans'. and also, these clans are nothing like towns. They are almost all underground(to prevent griefing) and are just one house with a couple rooms.

If you're on MULTIplayer it generally means you want to play with people. I don't see much point in playing SMP if you just plan to ignore everyone and go your own way, you may as well play singles layer and install some cool survival mods.

Just thought i would post on this to say that, although tensions are often tense between some people, for the most part everyone chats together, just some stuff gets PMed for safety reguarding location mostly, and i honestly would not like oasis to be like this, although I think it is a great type of server, oasis is cool because you can just build whatever and know its safe. Although, you can free build when your far enough from spawn, but in anarchal server thats like 30k-60k from spawn,
oh and mick I meant to add this

Our bases are not just one room :P They are mostly GIGANTIC carved out underground spaces. Reminds me of that one city Amad and everyon built underground. We have railways even in the one i live in just to get from different places to others underground, as well as to the surface.

For the last 6 months or so i've played minecraft just to talk and help people. I've been bored of it for a long time, but Oasis itself is the thing keeping me here. Just thought i'd throw that in there.
