Temp Map or Outdated?

There are many things to consider in this question. Whether or not it's better to have a tempmap or an outdated server.
Pros to a Tempmap
-Less people asking when we're updating
-People not getting confused on how to go back versions and mass posting on the forums
-Everyone gets a chance to play 'Legit'

Cons to a Tempmap
-Lag
-No Plugins
-Annoying Questions
-Griefers
-No titles/formal ranks
-Unprotected Spawn
-Abilities are taken away temporarily

Everyone wants us to update, but when we do, everyone's like "OMG TEMP MAPS SUCK, UPDATE PL0X."

Choosing is a double-edged sword.

Lag is more due to the shitty host than to being on a temp map.

I'd rather stay outdated. If they can't even figure out how to downgrade, they obviously don't know what google is and don't know how to internet.

I can't stand playing without plugins.

I need mah /home.

Broad pretty much nailed it, it doesn't matter what we do, someone (or a lot of someones) find something to bitch about.

Personally, I prefer not updating so that the transition from the old server version to the new version is more or less complicated. I'd rather stay backdated for 2 weeks and get a new server than force update and deal with players complaining about the temp map and griefing and all that jazz.

Basically, everybody who didn't update still get to play multiplayer, and those who forgot not to update can't play (unless they know how to backdate or downgrade their client).

Which is exactly why I keep my minecraft.jar file backed up. (also for mods too but that's not the point I'm trying to cover).

Another pro of not updating is that we see the people who actually want to play on Oasis. It eliminates griefers who are too lazy and just want to grief as soon as possible to downgrade. So, all the people that are more active and honest players will be on. Less bitching bitchers and griefing griefers.

It doesn't matter what you do, someone's gonna be harmed. Being the Ultilitarian I am, however, I want the greatest amount of happiness for the greatest number of people, so I made a vote. I thought it'd be a nice idea to see out side of things and maybe see if the staff agree..

Okay, this is a bit biased, I like the outdated map, but it does have its flaws.

I'm with Panda and Broad. No one is ever happy, So go with whatever the majority say. and I say don't use temp maps. I HATE CREEPERS!! and also griefers, not having /home, or any plugins.

So sad, but so true. It seems like every update comes out sooner and sooner. At least it keeps Mojang busy.
