I can't connect to the server so I'm gonna go play 1.8 I guess. You can get it on the MC forums if you want.

Also, they drop Ender pearls, what do they do?

They do nothing atm. Look at the list of new stuff on the MC forums

If you put 2 pieces of string and ender pears in a crafting bench, it makes anal beads.
