If you want to know of any good texture packs,here is a list.
1.Vattics Faithful 32x32 pack
2.r3d 32x32 or higher
3.John Smith's Legacy pack
4.Life HD
5.Dragon Dance.

these are all packs that stay true to the regular Minecraft feel. My best recomendation is Vattics Faithful because
if you don't like the simple feeling of MC, than this is the pack for you

I don't use texture packs, even though they often make places look nicer, I don't want to deal with the hassel of getting them, and I want to make things look good for the default pack because that is what most people use (I think)

John Smith Legacy is decent, but for some really awesome textures use the updated version, Conquest, by monsterfish. It has meta data textures for everything, meaning every block has four or five different textures.

Good point, I do occasionally switch between textures if I'm building stuff, but I use Sphax which is basically the same as normal Minecraft textures, just more pleasant, so my stuff usually looks about the same.

If I had to choose one it would be "better default" maybe.
I had a discord texture pack once... the grass was red and everything was discolored. It was a beautiful mess ;w;
