Update on my wifes battle...plot twist!
So, last night my wife started having severe chest pains. She had been having minor ones all day but it was gradually getting worst. She tried several things that she thought it might be and to no avail!
So I took her to the emergency room, im speeding down the interstate trying to pass everyone and this one jackass speeds up with me and matches my speed so i cant pass him and I eventually had to slow down cuz of the vehicle in front of me. He's lucky I just didnt ram the side of my Trooper into the side of his SUV
Any rate, we get there and they basically admit her then and there, being she's a cancer patient that is on chemo, and she's having chest pains, yeah, they are not gonna wait.
They did xray's, blood work immediately so the doctor didnt have to wait for them.
After he looked at all that, and he came in the room to talk to us, she started to have the chest pains again while hooked up to the monitor. So he got to see it first hand, which helps.
And one cat scan later, they see a blood clot in her lungs. So they admitted her to the hospital and put her on blood thinners.
Her oncologist came in to see her. He said she will be in there for a couple days. She whined about it but I told her OH FREAKY DEAKY WELL! YOUR STAYING TILL YOU GET BETTER! :P
The room she got is in their new oncology wing that they just built. The room is SWEET. Its big, with lots of room. There is a reclining chair that you can sleep and a small couch that pulls out into a bed. EPIC. So yeah i stayed the night since it was after 2am before we got into the room. I CALL THE COUCH!
This morning her chest pains were not as bad as they were last night, and she managed to get some sleep. And she ate a good breakfest this morning. Im jelly over what she's having for lunch and dinner..... I have to have 4 pimento cheese, cheese, bologna and mayonaise sandwiches for lunch.... :P
At any rate, just from the inital dose of blood thinners helped with the pain. Just have to wait for the blood clots to dissolve now.
I'll let ya'll know more when I hear it.

Glad to hear that the ER visit went good (so to speak). Hopefully that clot will dissolve quickly and she will be on her feet soon. Oh yea, nice call on the couch, lol.
Re: Update on my wifes battle...plot twist!
I hope she has a swift recovery because waiting for clots to dissolve is not a fun thing to do. At least she's not a man; those medicines do... unfortunate things... to the male anatomy.

My Prayers
I hope your wife gets well soon. One of my close relatives got this also, but much worse. The clot was so big the Arteries started expanding, he needed immeidiate surgery. Unfortunatly, His old age made matters worse, he didnt make it. I really hope your wife gets well soon, as losing a loved one is a very despairing thing.

Well, I have no idea but I knew, just knew, something bad would happen. Not specifically with you but in general. I woke up with a feeling that something is gunna go down/ went down. I wish your wife luck in all of the dangers.
PS Pax you sound like my dad when he drives.....anywhere.

Good to hear things are going well with your wife, it would be tragic if anything happened to her. From what i understand, people generally tend to care about their wives and whatnot. Hope everything turns out well!

Re: Update on my wifes battle...plot twist!
Ok so, they were expecting my wife to be in the hospital till today. But the new blood thinners they put her on worked a charm on her. The one bad thing about them is that she can not take ANY pain killers at all. NONE! So yeah that is gonna suck. But the good thing about this blood thinner, is unlike the warfarin which takes weeks to get out of your system, this one only takes 24 hours. Which is a good thing because her surgery is right around the corner! We dont know when yet, but the warfarin could have delayed it A LOT LONGER THAN NEEDED!
At any rate I promised a photo of her sweet ass room.
Its a panoramic picture i took with my iphone! CAN YOUR PHONE DO THAT? RAWR!

Good to hear the wheels are in motion, Pax! And you were right, that is one fine ass room you have there, hardwood floors looks like a nice touch! Hardly seems like a hospital room, which (I would guess) is good! Hope that surgery goes well!

My thoughts and prayers are still with your wife and you as you go through this horrendous event in your and your wife's lives. I have shared this with quite a few friends and they are praying for her to get better too.
On a side note, that room is fancier than ANY room in my family's house!
I wish you and your wife the best of luck in fighting this,
-Ben
