Temporary goodbye. Empty Temporary goodbye.

Post by Locket3773 7/28/2013, 6:54 pm

I don't really know how to say this, but, I will not be coming on Oasis for a while. 50% of my decision is because I'm moving in like 2 days and my internet won't be back up until around the 20th of next month. The other half, is I just really don't feel like coming on. I have ZERO inspiration to do anything at all. I'm feeling like I'm getting out of touch with a lot of players on here, it sucks, and I'm sorry to say but I'm starting to feel like a shadow in the background. Part of it is also that I am getting burnt out and not enjoying Minecraft as much as I did before. I have probably just been playing too much. Once my internet comes back up in my new house, I will come on sometimes. Not sure how often though. And I probably won't be building anything, I plan on just building whatever in my creative worlds. I will most likely just be hanging around and helping other players, or go caving etc. with them.
I guess you can consider this as a farewell for now.

See you sometime in the future.

(By the way, I know a lot of people will be all like "Oh he just wants attention" but no, thats not what I am aiming for. So chill the hell out if you are that Sir or Ma'am because I really have no respect for people who automatically assume random things that are false. Good day.)

I know exactly what you mean. I'm starting to feel like an Osga and I'm really not enjoying Oasis.

It really sucks because Oasis has a sweet community.
But yeah.
Osga is a pretty cool guy

Assuming from the picture in your signature (and from last months promo's), you are just dissapointed that you didn't get architect. Therefor you don't see it wainting another month in the hope to get the rank.

It's ok. It's common that players leave the server because they didnt get a rank.
Sorry to see you go like this.

I think you missed the last part of the post. About assumptions.
And there's a story behind that.

The reason it is part of my signature is because I have much respect for whomever has obtained the rank of Architect. I think they are the best of the best and they deserve recognition. And. That one time Jake asked to help me build my castle, I thought that was so awesome (When I was trusted). I look up to Architects and I highly respect them.

Also, it is NOT because of promos. I wanted to make this post a few days ago but I never had the chance to be around my laptop to create this post due to my job.

I started having the same inspiration problem and I came to the conclusion that I was playing way too much.  I've reduced my ontime considerably and I feel better.  Lately I just help people while travelling the server, looking at all the neat stuff.

I look forward to seeing you back on the server because I love the stuff you build and... and... you smell like flowers!

At this point, I have at least six or seven buildings around the new world that I will never finish or look at again. I just don't feel like building. The only reason I come on, really, is the community. And recently, I'm not seeing as many of my old friends as I used to. I feel out of touch and swamped by the mass of members, guests, and trusteds that I have never seen before.

Maybe I'm just not as active as I used to be, but minecraft, and Oasis in particular, has gotten more and more complicated and political than when I first joined. Both in terms of minecraft mechanics and community, It's not the same Oasis as when I first joined.

Minecraft used to be alot of cooler when you just had to think about mobs and builds. Now it's bosses, horses, useless blocks, those freaking filthy beacons, griefers, noobs, abandoned towns, cobbleboxes, woodenboxes, you get the idea.
There's so many stuff in-game that is unecessary and it makes it feel overloaded. I knew that when i would get architect i wouldn't be as active as before, hell, i even ask to give my rank to Locket. Something is missing on minecraft, and adding saddles to pigs isn't that something.

 Politics??? KILL IT WITH FIRE

My problem lately is I have too many build ideas and not enough time to play, despite being on here 7-12 hours everyday e-e I've been making myself busy with 2-3 projects at a time and working on them while making a list of possible future builds. (Current projects: Ragequit-Dungeon jail maze, Giant robotic Obsidian sheep next to voltage's bridge, expanding voltage plots and clearing land inland, some tiny projects in the city, etc) I haven't even started my survival/legit house.... or built a house at all in 1.6 XD Projects + staffythings keep me occupied for hours without getting bored. Plus, chat is always fun :D

Go and find your inspiration... and then come back and build things *-*

On the topic of mc changes... yeah mc is getting more complicated... Especially horses... honestly I only liked this update for the coal blocks, carpets, and clay. I haven't even found horses useful in single player, and with all the horse theft/murders/horse-economy it's starting to become a drag. Normally when animals are missing, we can rollback kills or just spawn more if they got out. Horses... everyone wants the exact horse they had, with a free saddle, armor, and nametag. With nametags costing 400$ in admin shop, I'd feel horrible if I denied them that. With the random horse spawning, it's annoying to get the same horse that wandered off because some idiot griefed the pen. When I explain I can't replace armor, people get annoyed. I don't even bother with horses on singleplayer... they're more for show then actual use.
As for beacons, I've found them to be good for show, and maybe mining haste, but you cant easily move the beacon with you as you mine out of reach... I have one beacon in Voltage, but it has no powerups because I can't stand my screen freaking out whenever I get within reach xD Also, deactivated beacons sometimes make a decent building block if used correctly.
