I have decided to run a sort of test event... If it goes well, it might be somthing I keep going in the future to encourage exploration and keep me busy.

Over my time on this map, I've stockpiled a ton of mined ores, music disks, enchanted tools/armors, food, etc. I have a sort of...obsession with storing things I don't use *shrugs*

I have decided to give my stock away, rather then sell it. I enjoy mining, but I don't really use half the stuff I mine... I usually end up either selling it, or giving it to someone...or just letting it sit in chests forever...like now xD

However, having a drop party or giving it all to just people I know well would be boring. I've decided to make this into a sort of scavenger hunt.

-I have built hidden mario-style warp pipes built out of different materials all over the map using /random to find locations.

-Each pipe has a chest in it lockette to [izumi4kona] and [Everyone] (so no one steals the chest itself....).

-Whoever finds the warp pipe may take the staircase up to the top, jump down into the water, and loot the chest.

-There are ladders in each chest to get back out. In the event someone has griefed it, you can just /spawn. I do not want to see dirt pillars in them.

-All server rules apply, no griefing the pipes. I will be patrolling them daily for griefs. I have a way of teleporting to each one at any given time.

-I do not know how close together they are in location, I used random and kept the coordinate display off.

-I will periodically refill the chests. Like once or twice a day.... I have a ton of stuff I've stockpiled and never used XD

-Nothing in the chests are spawned. These are all legitimate items. Giving out spawned items is banned.

-This event will go on for about week, starting now and ending on promos day (despite the downtime from saturday->sunday this weekend)

-If my things are not gone in a week, I will just keep going until everything is drained from my stock.

-Though there are 10 pipes currently, I may decide to build more if I see finding them is slow. However, If people start discovering the pipes quickly and saving coords and I see the same person looting each one everyday, I will start shifting better rewards to the newer ones if need be. But this has just started, so I can't do much but plan ahead for that.

Everything is in place and stocked, so it's a free for all now. I won't give any hints as to where they are. I am visiting to each chest now to recheck lockette.

(and no, there will not be enough minerals to crash economy. I am spreading them out very slowly throughout the week.)

Possible Contents of chests:

~Enchanted Iron/Diamond Armor (diamond later, I have few of them)

~Enchanted Iron/gold/diamond tools/weapons and bows (diamond will be brought out later this week, as I have very few)

~Diamonds/gold/iron/etc (few diamonds, though I will actually try to mine more just for this event)

~coal/quartzblocks (I have a ton of these to get rid of)

~FOOD. TONS OF FOOD. I HAVE WAAAAYYY TOO MUCH FOOD STORED.

~The occasional music disk. I have 2 now, I will try to get more as the event goes on.

~other randoms... mobdrops, brewing stuff, netherwart, etc

Only 4 out of 10 pipes have been found so far.

People who looted warp pipes so far:
-momogowi (who's been randoming all over the place like nuts trying to find them... he's gotten like 2 or 3 already o-O)
-ThatOneChick (1 or 2?)
-CEJ## (2 I think)
-trj820(1)

I am posting hints for each one later today, I gtg somewhere right now though

Ive been looking but haven't come across one as of yet. :/ Maybe im looking to hard.

My brother raged at me yesterday after spending 5 hours looking for them XD (momogowi), there's really no method of finding besides random .... since I used /random to place them.

Some of them are near builds or landsmarks that I can use as hints though.
Speaking of Hints...

HINTS:
-Pipe#1: Biome=River. This is the easiest one to find, about 5 people have found it (this is the one I restock most often). It's near a warp. This was my starting point before I started setting them with /random. The pipe is near water. It is built out of Lapis Blocks.

-Pipe#2: Biome=IcePlains. The only things near this, is a lit WE'd wooden platform, and Marshallbeg's house (inactive?). The pipe is built out of Redstone Blocks.

-Pipe#3: Biome=Swamp. Near some of Tonkaman's builds, and a witch's hut. Built out of Emerald Blocks.

-Pipe#4: Biome=IcePlains. Near absolutely no build that I know of yet... It is made out of Gold Blocks (Butter Blocks, for those of you in sky's army...thing... what's it called again?)

-Pipe#5: Biome=ExtremeHills. Near fake nether portal filled with purple wool (mine), A tiny wooden house made by Kyorgtea, and some random floating wood platform with thinkglass railings and a torch in the center. Pipe is made of Obsidian.

-Pipe#6: Biome=Ocean (technically). It is in a lake on the shores next to some forests. The only build nearby is a dirt box on a cobble platform... it's ugly... a few hundred blocks away maybe... Pipe is made out of End Stone.

Pipe#7: Biome=Desert, but right next to jungle and extreme hills biomes. It is only a few hundred blocks north from pipe#8 as well. This pipe is made of Bricks.

Pipe#8: Biome=Jungle. It is literally on top of a tree. The stairs to reach it are on top of a Jungle Temple that I once leveled to the ground a few months ago (rolled it all back). Built out of Chiseled SandStone.

Pipe#9: Biome=ExtremeHills. Hiding right near the base of a hill, and it's near a nice (WE'd? There's no records) house seemingly owned by Noochie99 (*shrugs*). Masterj111's farm is nearby, as well as Artismart's sheep. Pipe is built out of Quartz Blocks.

Pipe#10: Biome=Forest. Aprox 100 blocks from Cortezs's house (inactive?). That's..the only thing I know of right now. Pipe is made out of BookShelves.

I might give out more hints next week (thursday).

Also, clarification on rules:
-Yes, you can loot the same pipes after restock.
-You can save coords quietly for yourself, announce the coords, or even sell the coords for all I care. You do what you want with that knowledge after you find them. There is no rule saying you have to keep the locations a secret.
-I haven't found this yet, but in the event someone does grief the pipes, server rules still apply. This is why I didn't shove them all near warps.
-You can loot/leave whatever you want in the chests
- I will check them periodically throughout the day. When the pipes become more known, it will turn into a race to see who loots it first.

oh I am so dumb. I have spent about 5 hrs looking, and I found # 10 a little bit ago but by then I had given up on looking and forgot about it. I had thought it was just some random think that someone built and left it alone. dangit! Mad

The event was a success, and I've still got stuff left over xD
Warp pipes 9 and 10 where never looted, so if anyone happens to find them on the 1.5 map, their rewards have been heavily increased.
All current 1.5 pipes are on their last restock. I am no longer restocking them. I am preparing for 1.6's warp pipes, and working on the remake/upgrade of warp enchant.
I still have a giant hoard of food and ores and books (especially books), so I'm continuting this in 1.6.
It will be a week+ before I start this up again in 1.6. I have some new ideas for next time:

-once a pipe is looted, it will be tore down and relocated. This will prevent pipe camping, and allow me more time between restocks.

-Each pipe will have a couple signs explaining what the hell it is... some people found them and had no idea XD

-I will start hiding some in more easily found/ frequently visited locations, but out of plain sight.

-The more harder to find ones will have higher rewards (Since 9 and 10 were never found, I filled both of those chests with shiny stuff)
