The End Of MineCraft

Post by GoldMine on 9/26/2011, 4:21 pm

Hey everyone! so most of you have probably heard, seen or played beta 1.9 prerelease. One worry for a lot of people before 1.8 came out was that it would ruin minecraft, and for the most part I believe people were happy with the update. Notch seemed to be going towards a more releastic feel. However 1.9 takes a little relism away and adds some (mooshrooms taking the real life aspect away were as specific dirt biomes add a lil more). I want to know what you guys feel about this. Do you think 1.9+ will ruin minecraft? Or will it make it want you've always wanted it to be?

why would it ruin minecraft? if you are looking for realism in a block world full of zombies skeletons and creepers you are doing it wrong

I'm looking forward to the update... I gave minecraft a rest because of exams a month ago and then just never felt an urge to play again. However 1.8 and 1.9 have reminded me how good the game is and I will start playing again! So in other words I think the updates are good, keen as for the snowmen in 1.9 haha :D

ermm MC isn't about realism... if that was the idea... it wouldn't be made outta 1 by 1 by 1 blocks...

the higher texture packs - talking 256 and 512 here, don't look right (in most cases).

That is why I am wondering why notch is trying to make it more releastic which is one of the reasons the hunger bar was put in. I heard he is trying to even add more things like that.

Notch sometimes get dazzed by what other people can do with his own creation, it's not his idea, mostly things that have been on since 1.2 is player-creation (Dinamic light, for an example)

hunger bar was just to add more to the game, make surviving that little bit harder.

it's a good step in the right direction really, gives more purpose to food. and the "health regen" is good.. means you don't always need food to heal up.. from a pvp point of view, also means people can't just

1) take damage
2) hide
3) eat, full health
4) back to 1)

instead they have to eat and take cover while they heal.
