So, today I decided to watch some anime. And yea, the anime part worked out just fine, but there were some rather interesting things on the sides....

Anybody else sometimes stumble upon crazy ads? There have been some that are just like "nope nope nope refreshing page refreshing page/leaving site GET AWAY FROM ME" (heck once I saw some explicit yuri ads that were um... yea... I backpedaled and ran x.x) All sorts of shady sites out there. In a way the internet is its own reality. Some ads are like people at WalMart. Sometimes at night the internet ads are like the drunks running around naked. You are wandering the woods and there are rather intense things in there. And thus, the internet. One has to wonder how the people drawing these types of things felt. They were probably under the influence of something.
and don't question Windows XP it's still the queen of computers in my heart even if Windows 8 hast cast it from the castle into exile with the bandits that rove the outskirts of the kingdom.

what's more concerning is that you have Yahoo on the other 3 tabs.

I'm one of those internet A-holes that use an adblocker. So i have no problem with ads on most sites.
Though i do not use it on sites which i would like to support, and know there won't be any bizarre ads floating around.

I have some advice for you.
If you have a problem with this. Then i would advice you not to lurk around the internet too much. Even on streaming sites as such seen above. There is some ██████ up stuff you can come across. I do believe there even was a unofficial official rule for this on the internet... I'll spare you the details.

Oh... and people were not under the influence of anything while drawing these. Believe me.

Oh, no, no; I think you may have taken me too seriously. I've seen all sorts of messed up things on the internet, and I'm not totally creeped away from it so much as positively amused by its presence, haha. Rule 34 is what you speak of, yes?

This is from the person who jokes about fried babies, sparkling organs with glitter, and... well, a wide variety of morbid, twisted things in general. So yea, it's all good! I just think bizarre ads like that are pretty funny. Though sometimes they are quite... distracting, if you get what I mean ;-; (and thus do require a page refresh so I can focus on the animes). And sometimes they're a bit *too much* and make me question the validity of the site in general, so sometimes I do flee the battleground but I'm not like, traumatized or anything. Mostly apathetic towards everything, just many levels of "well then... that was quite something."

The people who draw these things are under the influence of the beautiful wonders of the twisted, dark caverns of the human imagination, the caverns that many shy away from but some embrace wholeheartedly and utilize its contents to wreck havoc upon the derpy, crazy landscape of the internet, leaving it ripe with untold beauties/horrors (depending on the perspective of the unfortunate/fortunate adventurer). However, untold perils do indeed lie in these dark recesses of the web, and thus they cannot  be safely explored. Though I do confess some of the creepypasta out there is quite something, and not the apathetic sarcastic quite something I normally apply to many internet wonders. Truly some... interesting works of art. Deliciously disturbing sometimes.

Hail, demonic caverns of imagination! *draws summoning circle* Rise from thy neurotic prison and unleash thy glory upon the electronic fibers of this land that which we so solemnly declare the freedom of life! Suck these unholy, unsuspecting mortals from their languid abode and thrust them into thy boogie car! Yay!

Okay, I may or may not be rambling now. But in summary, I am a steeled one.

On another note, Yahoo forever. It is similarly in a state of abandonment by the people like Windows XP, but alas, it will always have its faithful lackeys as it wanders its lonesome haunts.

The internet truly is an interesting place. I have a little game I like to play called "is that a demographic?" Needless to say, it almost always is. For the sake of keeping things at least mildly clean, i wont go into detail.

These days the internet has gone from finding answers to questions without ads to now every page you load there is some "adult" content ads now which does get annoying. Sadley i am unabke to block ads on both my pc and iPad so i have to deal with them every day. Like the ither day i went on craigslist to look for some trucks for sale and i see a very very adult ad on the top of the page (i refuse to go into detail about this). 

And actually leagle is right, a lot of these people were not under the influence of anything, i have seen several people post very nasty things on the internet including friends

I can understand that perspective some; I do agree some of the crazy stuff out there is quite vulgar and distasteful. I appreciate when someone handles twisted, messed up things artfully and maturely (which is possible), but not so much when it's just some idiot drawing crap and making it so immature. Ahhh, it's a bit hard to describe without context, but I suppose it's the difference between a nice well-written horror story and someone writing plotless tentacle-related scandalous activities with human beings. Or a well-written, plotastic story that does involve some degree of sexual content (with well-developed characters and said scandalous activities are meaningful to the plot) versus just a random story of two people.... having fun in detail for the sake of it, shall we say. I think an air of subtlety can really do wonders to not make it sound stupid in some cases.

So, there's plenty of ads out there that are of the latter — distasteful things written/drawn for the sake of grossing people out. Some people aren't under the influence of the awesome dark caverns of human imagination so much as motivated by just how much they can disgust someone, true. Though there was perhaps the influence of imagination somewhere in there, it's just somewhere along the creating process that creative potential got spewed out as sewage waste rather than true art.

As a matter of fact, society in general has become a lot more sexualized in recent years, which might help explain all the crazy stuff out there.

But yea, for the most part I typically see gaming ads or anime/manga ads or stuff, but sometimes, oh my. And sometimes I have this moment where I'm peering at the drawing trying to understand just what is going on in the mess of lines and then I see the image and it's just "ohh... Oh... I see... well.... o.o okay then"

One time I looked up "lesbian" on the Yahoo image search out of boredom and, well, I know I should've seen it coming but it surprised me and I was just like "Huh, wow... is this all..." (scrolling down list) "yea... this is all...that...  not a single sweet innocent picture... yea... Well, that is quite something there." (leaves) -moment of dumb-

Not sure what can be done about the scandalous ads, though, for those who really do have an issue with it. The Internet kind of can't be controlled, it's the wilderness, so I suppose you do have to put up with it, Thunder :( Sorry. But, gopefully you'll get used to it and stop caring like me! Once you've seen it all, nothing affects you anymore! :D? Though I do steer clear of the tentacle stuff. There were some tentacle doujins on a list of Madoka Magica doujins and the curious part of me said "You should click that :o" and the sensible part of me said "Um, how about no?" then the curious part was like, "but aren't you wondering just how they can incorporate tentacles into a show about magical girls and witches that has nothing to do with oceanic creatures?" but I stood by the no. I have a problem of being too curious sometimes, like I know it's something messed up but I'm wondering just HOW they got into said messed up situation, you know?

It's not that society is becoming more sexualized, it's just the places you go. Most advertising companies assume that if you're into anime, you're into anime porn. Therefore, they place the ads there.
