Mega Town

As part of a reply to this thread, I want to propose making a Mega Town.

The name of course, will not be Mega Town, because that's cliched and unoriginal. Instead, I'm going to put up a vote with some name suggestions for you (Which will be going up as soon as I get name suggestions). 

Hopefully this town will declutter small towns, by making a single, large community that's easier to build in. I also intend to make this majestic as fuck, so there's also the beauty aspect. 

Please, leave name suggestions below!

Can I get a description of the area you are building in first?
i.e.: are there any obvious geographical landmarks, such as mountains, oceans, rivers, etc.

i think this is a great idea!
a lot of new players join the server and want to join something/someone.
i think this is a great place to send them so they can easely start building and collecting resources on the server and also get in contact with other players.

I think its a great idea. But personally, I think that warps/towns should have size requirements. For instance, a town must have at least 16 residential plots. I don't know about limiting plot sizes, but I think we should not let them be tiny. (1x3 plots I saw once. REALLY? What can I build in 1x3 sized plots?)

I do not favor the idea of having to build our communities in your (if it will be yours and you're asking us to build small towns in it) mega town. If that's what you're asking. I'm not going into detail as to why, but you know, some of us build things in different biomes (yes, including the nether) if you do this though. I will spread Leafianity the worship of Leafus and the worship of the Anti-Leaf Leafan everywhere. LOL

Anyways, if you are making a Mega Town, why not Goldenrod City? (Ok, maybe I put a Pokemon reference there) huehue ok. That's all I have to say. Kbai bishes <3

I definitely love the idea of a mega town. When I found out we had towns I wanted to make one and did. But I soon learned that people tend to abandon towns and make there own or just leave   . After that experience I had no intentions of building a town this map just because I found it useless.

I will love to live in the mega town and will be glad to help. But I just want to know if you have any plans regarding citizenship and people deciding they want to leave.

Also I want to know if there will be any mushrooms because if their aren't, be ready to see some(if the town is built).

I would be willing to help build the mega town when im online just get me to the location and give me the blocks and i will help.

Anyway i love the idea of a mega town it makes oasis seem more like real life i mean you don't see towns theses days with just 2-10 residents and a "mega town" will be like a modern day city like New York (example). I can build stuff but not very complicated stuff and i specialize in setting up gardens and farms so i can set up probably oasis biggest farm pretty quickly and i am pretty good at building small huts and cabins if you need any of those. And i can handle most of the redstone cause i am actually pretty good when it comes to redstone

As for a starting location? I'd say maybe Desert or Plains. Pretty flat, with a decent path to expansion. I'd also like it to be near an ocean, so we can expand into the ocean (or even underneath it...)

That's kind of the point of a mega town... a really large town so that we don't have a hundred half inhabited towns...

To answer your second point, I was toying with the possibility of 'districts' and having each district offer up two tributes every year in a bloodthirsty deathmatch manage its own internal affairs, but I don't think I'll operate this way. Instead of many little towns making up one mega town, think of it as one towns that makes all other towns seem like little villages. 

And yes, you can spread Leafianity. And I will consider Goldenrod City.

I've had that happen to me too, but it only seems to happen when I try to make a town on my own. Hopefully I'm coordinating more people this time, so this won't flop.

If you buy a plot, you can put whatever you want inside of it. If that means satisfying your shroom fetish, go ahead.

And yeah, farms would be a good starting point. Tree farms, wheat, maybe even potato/carrot farms.

Again, I'd love any help, especially with redstone. We'll see what we can do with doors or fireworks displays.

Suggestion if it is in a desert: Derelinquo Visum, (latin for desert view)

As a suggestion I think it's better to be in a plains since its much easier to dig underground without sand falling on top of you and as a city name "The Capitol"

Mega Town project underway! I started in a plain, and I have 6 residents right now, with space for 5 more currently. I will be expanding a lot of the next couple of hours. I have a public farm and mine currently. 

As for names, Goldenrod City and The Capitol are my only suggestions (Desert View won't really work, seeing as though it's not a desert). Anyone have any other ideas?

XD the point of this was to get away from cliche names ending in -ville. I'll take Oasistown though. And Disneyland from el.
