My wifes surgery with spazztastic tittiesprinkles!

Ok, so today she had 3 things done to her today. Surgery being the main and important one. But lets start from the begining....

So we get there at 10am. The first procedure was scheduled at 10:30am. 15 mins after we get there they have us in the oncology waiting area where its more quiet and less people moving around. Its nice in there. 1 hour later they finally took her back. The lady handling it came out and appologized, she was the only one there. And they were backed up. So we started off an hour late. But its fine we were already expecting to stay the entire day.

This was just to put in a wire to mark the clamp they left in her boob to mark where the tumor was before it shrunk. It was funny when she came back. The nurse said "Now she can pick FM!" LOL

Next we are scooted off to radiology, they injected a nuclear dye in her boob so the Lymph nodes that were most likely to get cancer if it had spread would light up like an xmas tree. This way when he does the surgery, he can find them, and remove them and inspect them.

Then....finally....2:55pm....they took her to her surgery. Said it could take up to 2+ hours if he needs to remove more lymph nodes. 4:10 we get a call, and they are done. SWEET!



See the blue ball in that pic? That is about the size it was when we first fount it. Smaller than a tennis ball. But about that size. Pretty big.

He tells me that the tumor shrunk to the size of a pea. HOLY %*%$%*(&)! THAT IS WONDERFUL! There was almsot nothing left after the chemo! He removed it and some extra JUST IN CASE!

Now the lymph nodes. He only removed 2, and they were both benign. Meaning they were healthy. Nothing wrong with them. WOOT! Good news after good news after good news!

Long story short we left at 6pm spent 10 hours there, she had not eaten since 11pm the night before, she was ready to kill some one.....lol. So her daddy took us out to eat. All you can eat Chinese buffet!

So....next wed she has a checkup. The nurses will be calling to check on her the rest of the week. And in 4 weeks she goes to see the oncologist again to schedule her last 3 treatments of chemo.

When that is all said and done, its 1 shot of radiation!

Today not only was humpday, but it was her humpday for her treatment. Today marked the half way mark of her journey!
