My wifes chemo - DOSE #2

Today she got her second dose of chemo. All was well except about 1.5-2 hours in she had a mild reaction to it. She felt like there was pressure on her chest and had a hard time breathing. They stopped the drips and took her vitals. All looked good, so they decided to give her a bit, and 15 mins later she was all good. And then they restarted.

Her meds was reduced due to her white blood cell count dropping WAY too far from the first dose. So hopefully this week she wont have to be hospitalized again with a flu.

BUT, the really great news. Before all of this, we saw her oncologist. They examined the lump and said it seems to have dramatically shrunk like half its size. They said its a possibility that she might not need surgery at all. But like they said, ITS A POSSIBILITY. NOT DEFINITE AT THIS TIME.

Tomorrow she has another doctors visit with them. This is a quick easy one. She just gets a shot of the Nuelasta that I talked about in the other post. This shot forces her blood marror to produce more white blood cells. So its just, walk in, sign in, get shot and leave. 15-20 mins at most.

I hope she gets better soon.

Good signs should never be overlooked! Hold onto that hope Pax, things are looking good!

I recently started working in a breast cancer research lab so i'm still trying to understand the disease but it sounds like your wife is reacting well to the treatments =D

Me and my family will be praying for your wife. My mom had cancer and had similar stuff done and i recently lost my grandma to cancer. They both had test, shots, surgerys and more done so i know what your going through pax just keep your hopes high and it will be over soon
