Book Recommentation: The Hunger Games

Hey guys. Today, I want to get the message out that The Hunger Games is the best book I've ever read. I strongly recommend you guys read it. It's by Suzanne Collins, and she's a very talented writer
DISCLAIMER: I do not own any part of this book.
I'm on the third one currently, and let me say this is the best book trilogy I've ever read.
Tell me if you guys have read it or if your thinking about it now.

- The story line is:
In the future while America is in ruins, 13 districts surrounding one capitol had an uprising. They could not defeat the power of the Capitol. Since then as punishment, an annual event called The Hunger Games is held every year. On a day known as Reaping Day, two children, one boy and one girl, from the ages of 12-18, are picked from each district to enter a fight to the death in an arena. This event is live on TV, and it's mandatory viewing for the whole country. Sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen is from district 12. On reaping day her 12 year old sister Prim is chosen among hundreds. In agony, Katniss volunteers to take her place in the games. Katniss, her fellow tribute Peeta Mellark, and the other 24 tributes are taken to the arena. Losing means death. Winning means fame and fortune, putting life against love.
I'm on the third one currently, and let me say this is the best book trilogy I've ever read.

Yeah I heard of these books. Never actually got into them, but seem like an ok book. The movie looks crappy(arent all book-based movies crap though?)

Yeah... I read all three, the first was good, then it declined from there.
I'm gonna go see the movie when it comes out even though it might be a fail...

Ohhhh Meee Gawwwd, I was waiting for someone to post something for ther HG's. IM AM OBSESSED GAHH. I have the nail polish (for all the districts). the sound track. Im going to see the movie on my cruise

I read half of the first hunger games, and burnt the book soon afterwards.
Literally, I was bored to tears.
It just isnt believe-able at all!!
But I do think that the film will be good, and hope it is.
But that just my views.

Before you read a book, read the summary... How did you expect a post-apocalyptic story like this to be "believable"? I mean, I understand it's necessary to include some realism, but it's not suppose to be a non-fiction.Croky1 wrote:

Croky, you can't judge a book by the first 50 pages. Like, I read this one book that the first 50 pages were boring as hell. Then, it got better and better until it was the best book I've ever read. This book is known as Catching Fire. Second hunger games book.
