Slimeballs

As many of you know, the 1.7 update involves sticky pistons. You make those with a slimeball and a piston. Since slimes are turned off and creating them in chests takes ages, I think they should be available in the server store. They shouldnt be too expensive because sticky pistons are just about the only use for them.

They will be turned back on and available to collect soon enough, just be patient.

And what's this about making them in chests? I thought that was a rumor.

I thought you could leave food in chests for a while and they would turn to slime.

huh never heard of that, the main concern for sticky pistons right now is the duping glitch, and as the server is running 1.7.2, it seems the next update (1.8) will allow us to re-implement slimeballs into the server.

Well 1.7.3 is out and we could update to that, but that might be more trouble than it would to just wait for 1.8

Or instead we can sell Sticky Pistons in the shop when we update. Less work, Less hassle, More happy.

I personally dont think they should be offered in the shop. Slimes are a little known beast and i think it would be good for the community for people to have to build slime rooms to collect them and sell them to other players rather then just offering them from the /shop. just one mans opinion.

My suggestion is to sell the PISTONS in the shop instead of the slimeballs. Make it so there isn't slimes and makes it easier for people to make them. in fact, they don't have to do anything besides buy and place them. Very convienient.

Ok ok, so its a simple disagreement here. no big deal. i feel people should have to find and earn their pistons and sticky pistons. you dont! Agree to disagree! :)

Making them yourself has a greater sense of achievement, so on the most part i agree.

Perhaps they should be available in the shop, but for a large price, so people are more likely to find them themselves, or so players can make a business out of doing so, but honestly i think this about most items (expansive in shop (except of course items you can't get without spawn) as then players would buy/sell from each other more and buy from shop when they really want something).

As for selling to shop, that should return less money than the cost of buying...

Sure, but I think they should cost a fair amount to buy (more expansive then buying the materials to make them would be), just so then players are paying for the cost of not having to do it themselves. :P

i agree that they should cost more, this discourages purchasing and encourages playing the game as it was meant to be played.

I like this idea.
