chunk preload?

Post by gretchyn on 6/3/2016, 7:45 pm

Especially when flying with elytra, --- jumping from close to world height, there are huge holes in the map in front of me ---- i have my render distance at 32 ---- still it doesnt load chunks till i'm right on top of them… is there any way i can make minecraft keep more chunks in memory?

I already have java configured at 2GB

There is not much you can do about this, because I believe this is caused by the server having render distance maximum set to 10. And also I think it can't really keep up that well when you're loading many chunks in quick succession, for example when you're flying with elytra.

Try to press F3 and A together until it loads them. That might work

There's a server load distance and a client render distance. The client can't render more chunks than the server loads, obviously. In 1.8 we had the server load distance set to 11 I believe. Right now it's set to 6 though, because of really bad lag issues. :/

However, I don't think that's the problem here. I have these problems too sometimes, but only when I'm at my mom's house, where we have slower internet than at my father's house. I'm guessing that it's your connection, the server just can't send you the chunk data quickly enough..

You mean "Your connection isnt receiving it fast enough" because the server isnt having issues sending it fast enough, its their connection not BRINGING it to them fast enough...lol
