Would you guys play on a feed the beast server if we started one?

Like the title says, considering a FTB server!

A seperate server from SMP. I am considering in adding a 3rd mc server to our family. So it would be completely seperate from Oasis SMP. It would be Oasis FTB

If we started running a ftb server we would either just do a straight Direwolf20 mod pack, or rotate through a list of mod packs every 6 months.

I love FTB but am so lazy for all the hard crafting that comes with it! Having friends to play with it would be so much more fun.

if my current pc could handle it for sure id play it right away, if not id have to wait till i get better pc (shouldnt be to long), and i know some good mobs if we get our own ftb pack i could help with what mods are chosen if you want. i love mods and oasis, but they come seperate, but if they come together that be great

I would love to play ftb on oasis. I think it would be an amazing experience for us all. I really hope we open one I would be on all the time.

If we open one i would love to play on either a direwolf pack or a mindcrack pack.it would be tons of fun to play ftb with you guys.

This is all I really play now for minecraft, so I'd love to get back into the community server and still be able to play the game I love :)

Im afraid my computer has trouble starting up, let alone playing minecraft, let alone playing a mod pack like FTB...

the one flom provided is for tekkit i believe....which is different from ftb

if you check the first link in my opening post, you download a launcher from there, and then after that, installing a mod pack is as easy as clicking on the one your want, and click launch. After that it downloads and install the mods for you. No work needed. Its that easy.

my pc is pretty crappy, single core cpu with 4 gb of memory running 32bit win and 32 bit java....3.?? ghz cpu... 1gb video memory decent video card. I am able to run direwolf20 (120 mods) just have issues using NEI (Not Enough Items) as it lags my system. other than that I am fine

, but i get like 20 fps on the current server... would FTB give me even worse frames? if so, it maybe unplayable for me Sad

I am gonna be honest, I get 15-20 on SMP....not sure about FTB. But, my pc handles the graphics fine on ftb, its the mod NEI (aka Not Enough Items) which lags my pc. The only time your client accesses that mod is when you go into an inventory. It can be disabled on the client side, it is not needed to join the server. I do this from time to time. But, if you disable NEI, you wont have access to the recipe list in game to help you craft things. When I did that, i just googled everything but it can get bothersome at times to do that.

Actually playing it I am fine, its just NEI that lags my pc, and I have an older CPU/mother board...soo yeah.

but has tekkit even updated beyound 1.2.5? Last time i saw, it was still at 1.2.5.

I would definitely play on an FTB server if you guys made one and I have played FTB before(Unlimited I think it was)but I would join in like 1-2 years because that's when I get a new computer/laptop(mostly want a laptop now).I do get decent fps(on singleplayer ofc which is about 20 fps)but on multiplayer probs not but I do delete some of the mods that I don't use or don't like(such as the minimaps).

you know accusingpanda, if you get 20 fps in singleplayer, it would improve on a server? A lot of people dont realize, single player is harder on your pc than multiplayer.

FACT: When you start singleplayer, it LITERALLY starts a full fledged mc server in the back ground to run it, and the client connects to that locally.

Multiplayer is easier on your pc because the server isnt running. I can run multiplayer fine with the except of NEI and its plugins, they lag me. If I run singleplayer its annoying as hell cuz world generation lags me LIKE NUTS. And my pc cant handle running a server and client side by side. So if you can play on single player in any shape or form, multiplayer will definitely work.

You can disable SOME of the mods. Mostly the client side only mods, like NEI or minimaps, and there is some server debug tools as well that you can disable to help too like Opis. if you disable NEI, minimaps, and Opis, you can usually get about 6-8 mods disabled like dat to help speed it up. Might be able to remove more as well! Not sure. If we get this going, best way to find out is to disable some and try, forge will tell you what mods YOU NEED if its disabled.
