No! Not The Beez!
Well if you have not noticed I have been less active on the server on the weekdays. Well I have been going to my Grandfathers organic rainier cherry/ gala apple orchards.
This time of year does take a bit of my time due to seasonal deadlines. So jobs like pruning, sprinkler maintenance and any other jobs till the picking season is of more importance than having a couple more days on the server (this is my grandfathers way of living you know).
So I'm going to do some updates of what i have been doing in the orchard starting with this one.
I will be updating this weekly and I'll answer any questions on this thread.

- This is a lot of stuff so I'm breaking it down....:
Since the orchard is organic we don't use the same chemicals and techniques as the traditional non organic orchards. Everything we use has to be naturally occurring or naturally made. Sometimes we have to use insects like ladybugs and lacewings to help with pest control.
This year we decided to start using Blue Orchard Bees (or BOBs for short) to help with the cold weather pollination. BOBs a solitary bee unlike a honeybee so they live on their own working independent of other bees. They are a Mason Bee which are bees that seal their chambers for the larva with clay. Lucky for me they are non aggressive but require some work to set up and maintain.- Here is me setting up the 'hives':
These are the tubes that we put the soon to be working bees so they can hatch near the hives they are working at. This is Perfectly Legal....i think....
This is the complete hive setup with the pipe bom.... uh i mean bee hatching tube installed in the top.
I will be updating this weekly and I'll answer any questions on this thread.

Is this a cunningly disguised Nicolas Cage deterrent and if so why is it necessary to protect an orchard from him.
