Butter Army vs. Squid Army?

Well as most of you know, I LOVE BUTTER! But on my last thread (which is now locked since I decided not to leave XD) Lina suggested a butter golem vs squid golem war (as she has before) . I wanted to know if you guys thought that would be a good idea. I guess it would be like the Melon vs. Pumpkin war. And we would need a "general" of the squid army because obviously I would be leader of the butter army. And what would Squid golems look like? XD Just let me know what you guys think.

 XD It's a SkyDoesMinecraft thing. He hates squids and love butter. So do we, his fans XD but Thank you for offering to build.

Id say purple wool for the squids.....maybe. Maybe a cauldron for feet? I don't have any experience with making fake golems...

Melon/pumpkin was called off by staff last map...for certain reasons... but I found it interesting and a great motivation to build things (The bases for both sides were amazing). Instead of having this a war with just 2 people like it was, we could make it a server friendly-competition group vs group thing. If it ever got big enough, maybe we could even have a small map for it, who knows. It's like pvp, but in building form *-* and relies on survival materials rather then spawned kits and /i.
Maybe mick or osga can make an official rules list for it... all i know is:

-all materials for soldiers = Legitimate (No spawned, no kits)
-Do not build near towns without permission
-Do not build IN towns without permission (unless its your own town of course)
-There are soldiers, and heavy soldiers. Look at the melon/pumpkin's in broasis fighting in the ocean if reference is needed xD
-No soldier may be placed within 5 spaces of another team's soldier
(abiding by server's griefing rule)
-You may build tanks and stuff *-*

Let's make this a for-fun thing instead of hostile. So I'm adding a couple possible rules:

-No disrespect to the other team. That also means no troll/foul language signs left on their side of battlefield (didn't happen before, but it better not now)
-Could build special battlefields (with warps? or near a warp, but far enough away from it that it isn't visible from it) where a line is drawn, and soldiers/tanks/heavies/forts/hospitals/whatever are built on either side. This would let people do whatever they want, without the worry of being too close to a city. It'd also make a sort of cool war-like build section with the forts *-*
*been experimenting battlefield setup with cynder_firekitty. He is nether quartz, I'm coal blocks. the line was drawn in a pool of water, and had two sides of bridges to build soldiers on + the land behind the water. He make some tanks and hospital and forts, and I made a fort and an airship on my side.*

As far as "winning" the war goes... I'm not really sure...
Personally, I'd think whichever side outdoes the other by the end of the map would "win".
I'd be glad to make a prize for the war if needed *shrugs*
Or we could do weekly/bi-weekly/monthly soldier counts. But they'd need to be counted by someone neutral obviously. Each team would provide a list of all coordinates near their group of soldiers to the counter(s).
Could also have some people judge the forts/builds on interior/exterior to add extra count to the teams.

I can speak from experience with the whole army thing that its all good at first until it gets competitive. I was building an army in world1 for fun and have almost 1,000 soldiers in my base. I also had an army contest with mick back in 1.2.5 (https://oasis-smp.forumotion.com/t9607-the-oasis-invasion). It all ended because I built too close to Jedi's place and almost got banned. 

I'd say if you keep it friendly and don't purposely try to piss people off like I did then you should be great!

I'd also like to stress again I am NOT participating in a war with anyone. I simply built an army this map for my own pleasure.

Me and Osga did this in 1.3.2, and here is the result. We also had a set list of Rules of Engagement, which made sure to outlaw non-legit armies and griefing. We also aimed for a 'non-winnable' campaign. That way, people don't go over the top trying to win, because there is no winners. 

If you guys want to restart this, you can bet the Melon Alliance will be there, defending there claims across the cube.

I'd be more than happy to assist/build/create/manage/whatever an army or someone else's army. It sounds like an interesting idea, you could almost make a chess like game out of it.      :megaman:
