Laptop Cooling Fan... -_- (Resolved, I'm back)

Well, as some of you might have noticed, in the last day and a half I haven't been on at all. My laptop's cooling fan has stopped working. I have blown it out with a can of compressed air etc and I am currently in the process of reading on how to start dismantling my laptop to get to the fan and buy a replacement. So I won't be as active until this is fixed.

Any of my fellow 'computery people'; I would love any advice you could give if there is anything I need to know. I have done a lot of research and this doesn't look like an easy job. I might send it off to a laptop repairer but don't know yet. My laptop is an HP G62.

Thanks Mad. I found a couple of tutorials but this one is best by far. I've just started to take it apart. Seems to be going fine so far :)

Omg i did that to blew out my laptop fan awhile ago.

Right. All fixed up and I never want to see inside a computer again! lol

It all works perfectly now, thanks to everyone who gave me advice on this. I didnt even need to get a new fan, there was a massive ball of fluff which I had to 'surgically' remove from the fan/heatsink.

So, I should be back on now, can't wait to see you all again ;)
