Native Accents
This is a video of the native accent of mid northern PA (Scranton) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sMI2jb16eo
from where I'm from we have something called a poolie accent which is just gibberish and mumbles
we also say water as werter, banana's as naners, potatoes as tatders. and the Susquehanna River is simply know as the River
Towanda (tow-one-da) or (ton-da)
Wyalusing (why-a-losing)

Re: Native Accents
Mines called "The North-Atlantic Dialect" or something along those lines, but it's an Outer-Philadelphian one.
You guys = Yous guys (Pronunciation)
Water = Wudder (Pronunciation)
Beach = Shore (Synonym)
Hollow = Holla (Pronunciation)
Towel = Tail (Pronunciation)
And many people pronounce Eagle as Iggle, although I don't.
If you listen to movies like Rocky it is very noticable.

Re: Native Accents
^^ Lol'd at girlfriend = cousin.
But as far as where I'm from and accents, christ it's just about a whole different language rather than an accent. I'll update/make another post later on today, no time before I head off to school for it now.

Re: Native Accents
I pretty much fall under the stereotypical Canadian when it comes to speaking, I occasionally slip out an aboot or hoose, but hey, shit happens.
So with regards to my post up yonder, here's what wikipedia came up with for Newfoundland dialect, or what we call Newfinese.
Razz - Basically to get from point A to B. Like, go out for a razz would mean go for a drive, walk, etc.
Got 'er scald - You're well off, doing good.
Y'at - Even shorter for whatta ya at, or what's up.
We have a bunch more of these ridiculous ass expressions, but I'm gonna cut it there cause I know half of you will see the wall of text and just go off from it.

Surprisingly enough, Wikipedia is right on that one. But, more native even still, in the town I live in we often come up with some of our own shit to describe things, like:
- Eh b'y: To agree with what someone is saying.
- Where ya to?: Where are you?
- Stay where you're to/at Oi'll come where ya're at/to.: "Wait there for me."
- Get on the go: "Let's go" (also, a common euphemism for partying, on the go by itself can also refer to a relationship- similar to a dating stage, but more hazy.)
- You knows yourself: Responding to statement in agreement.
- Yes b'y: Expression of awe or disbelief. Also commonly used sarcastically to mean "yeah right".
- Whadda ya't b'y? : "What are you doing?"
- Wah?: A general expression meaning, "what?" The length of the vowel sound varies.
- Luh!: this is used to draw attention to something or someone, often by pointing. It is a variant of "Lo!" or "Look!"
- G'wan b'y!: meaning, "No, really?" or "Are you joking?"
- Hows you gettin' on ol' cocky?" : "How are you today?"
- Me Son : "My Son" or "My Friend"
- Me ol' cock: meaning, "buddy" or "pal" : "Whacha got, me ol' cock?"
- You're some crooked : "You are grouchy"
- Mudder : "mother"
- Contrary : Difficult to get along with. Not to be confused with "contrary to popular belief."
- Puttin'in: Referring to young women, from "putting in"
- Oh me nerves: To be agitated or annoyed by something or someone
- Scopie: A nickname of a bottom feeding fish often found around coves
- Rimmed/Warped: To be deformed or distorted in a unusable
fashion. Often used to describe someone who is seen upon as weird or an
outcast (i.e.: She's rimmed, b'y).- Right: A synonym for "very" (i.e.: "She's right pretty.")
- Gets on/Getting on: used to refer to how a person or group behaves (i.e. "You knows how da b'ys gets on" / "How's she getting on?")
- On the go: To have something processing ("I've got an application on the go") or be in a relationship ("I've got a girl on the go")

Re: Native Accents
Here in the netherlands you also have those different accents.
Example:
Wat ben je nou aan het doen? < Normal Dutch: What are you doing now?
Wa doedde nou dan? < Brabants: "Farmer" accent.
There are so much more examples but it is still early in the morning.
