The Ads?

I've been noticing that each time I log on here, I see MLP-related things in the Advertisement box. Did we start allowing those ads onto here, or is it a sign? o.O

Mlp ads? Oh lord help us.

I don't see anything.

Like, mine are all "solve this maze, play this game, win this iPad" sort of shit.

Clearly you don't know how ads work these day's...

Most of the ads these days keep track of what you do and search.
For instence, i see a mlp related avavat in your account, plus you just told us you see mlp related ads...

Now it's quite clear for me that you search alot of mlp related content on google and stuff like that.

Ads catch the info of the page you are visiting, and store them in a account with your ip tagged on it.
this way they create a profile about you, not of your personal info, but of your internet behaviour.

These 'accounts' are, for example, sold to other ad compenies so that they know what kind of ads you might be attracted to.


But that's just a fracture of how ads work completely...

Well whatever; i'm not too familiar in the advertisement business, so I wouldn't know how everything works. I just updated my profile pic a few minutes ago, and I don't really search up MLP stuff all the time, just so you know.. Anyway, I was just a bit curious about those kinds of ads, since this isn't the only place I have seen them.. I've seen them on an app called iFunny and a few of them on Memebase, so I was just wondering if we've suddenly started supporting those kinds of ads or if they suddenly leaked into the Advertisement box..
